2018-02-03 03:21:26 UTC

dad said they were full of shit but they seemed serious

2018-02-03 03:21:34 UTC

Those laws are what got Jaes O'Keefe in trouble. Wasn't the content but the metrhod of collection

2018-02-03 03:21:39 UTC

2018-02-03 03:21:58 UTC

seemed like a violation of my 1st

2018-02-03 03:22:03 UTC

so how can they justify police body cams... that law doesn't make a lot of sense.

2018-02-03 03:22:13 UTC

not allowed to record even on public ground

2018-02-03 03:22:29 UTC

like seems like something i should go to the supreme court about

2018-02-03 03:23:24 UTC

so basically cameras should be illegal in WA state b/c your not allowed to record footage or take pictures of a minor on public/private ground w/ out parents consent

2018-02-03 03:23:30 UTC

@Khan call someone from a one consent state and have them record the audio... haha

2018-02-03 03:23:35 UTC

xd

2018-02-03 03:23:44 UTC

dont think thats how that works xd

2018-02-03 03:25:26 UTC

no it really does. as long as the person recording is in a state where it is legal, I.E swift and wests crazy recording lawsuit last year

2018-02-03 03:25:54 UTC

but wait they would need my parents written consent first...

2018-02-03 03:26:40 UTC

No, because you are not being asked, the consent is of the recorder in a different state, there consent is the only one necessary

2018-02-03 03:27:00 UTC

eh idk

2018-02-03 03:28:12 UTC

it would get you your supreme court case for sure, but who knows if you would end up winning

2018-02-03 03:29:04 UTC

ikr

2018-02-05 20:26:24 UTC

Could it be recorded then transferred to someone in a one consent state? I’d consent to do that for someone who lives in a state with jacked up laws. I guess there could be problems if asked to prove presence at the occurrence, but wouldn’t being in the state mean one would be under there laws? Or is there a way to claim recorded remotely or a way to record remotely, maybe an app that lets you record audio of phone calls?
Lots of questions, I know. I’m assuming since I turned on my recorder during an arrest I was present at, and I specifically told investigator to wait for me to do so and he did so (that could be implied consent)...
I can be pretty good a finding wiggle room to check for in legal matters. 😉

2018-02-05 20:29:44 UTC

If one can say BLM in a collected manner, then one should be allowed to say JLM or It’s OK to Be White in a collected manner also. I agree with other poster, never let them see they’ve pissed you off.

2018-02-05 20:29:46 UTC

I have no authority here, but I'm pretty sure the law that applies is the one of the state where it was recorded.

2018-02-05 20:30:05 UTC

That’s what I thought.

2018-02-05 20:30:11 UTC

@Alisha Supertramp I would say the hardest part for khan situation is that he is recording young kids who need parental release, so even if they sad yes it wouldn't count.

2018-02-05 20:30:56 UTC

That law doesn’t make sense. The police have to let people record them all the time.

2018-02-05 20:32:32 UTC

@wolfman1911 this is why I brought up the phone call, if the recording is done on a phone in a one consent state, that recording is legal, even if the events recorded are in a 2 consent state. its a grey area

2018-02-05 20:33:52 UTC

Yeah, that’s what I mean. If you call someone who records it, if they’re cozy at home and record the audio, it’s not illegal.

2018-02-05 20:34:36 UTC

but what if you stream it, and have someone record the stream from your phone...

2018-02-05 20:36:15 UTC

what we need is a Somali server that records streams and audio, thus allowing us to bipass these laws easily.

2018-02-05 20:40:24 UTC

I live in a 1 state, I was checking some information, I could just start the call with “this call may be recorded” and do as all the businesses that use that phrase. If they continue, it’s consent. The stream idea could work; I have the screen record button on my main pull up menu. I’m ready. 🤣

2018-02-05 20:45:46 UTC

Even if you didn’t save the stream, I’d still have it. Having a Bluetooth headset that has a decent mic and is kinda discrete, a live stream with phone in chest pocket maybe with camera pointed out(might pick up something), no one would even know it was done. I get obsessed, I’d be checking those state laws and school laws. School laws have to be exactly spelled out in student handbook, study that bitch hard, but no laws can violate federal laws.

2018-02-05 20:50:46 UTC

Being ornery, I’ve battled HS principals, college professors, college administrators, employer admin and beat them every time. But I sat back and quietly studied documents and evidence and didn’t fight something where I could be wrong. So I ain’t the bomb, I’m just cautious, and NOTHING makes me angrier than someone’s rights being trampled. If laws are bad, also, those need someone working to change them.

2018-02-05 20:52:13 UTC

And no, don’t think Somali server is the answer, well, if they’re actually in Somali, that just brings the laws of that country into play also.

2018-02-05 20:55:12 UTC

just becareful encouraging Khan, he has a lot to lose if him or his friend end up getting expelled because he doesn't want to let the progressives have there echo chamber.

2018-02-05 21:00:20 UTC

Good point. Hence my mention of studying the rules, being discreet, and being cautious. Didn’t mean to encourage. I know he’s been told to keep his head down, and I totally agree. Fighting an idiot instructor is often pointless at the time. They have authority. A recording could be used simply to go over what was said personally to make sure your memory is right. The issue could be left until after they’re gone... Possibly?

2018-02-05 21:02:54 UTC

I’m assuming Debate Team is a useless endeavor these days. If you can’t use facts and logic. And I don’t think that bullshit of not using black logic should fly. Formal debate rules should spell out rules specifically beforehand.

2018-02-05 21:15:14 UTC

Remember, rules at schools are not laws. After there’s no danger of repercussions, and not restricted by statute of limitations, if bored, what happened could be challenged then, if it’s not breaking the law. I doubt HS rules trump even municipal laws? Generally, all laws are available on the internet, and if an area is really out of control, its time to start attending town or city meetings. See what’s being said; often people are there because they’re concerned about an issue. Listen for the underlying rumble. Probably could find allies...
