@SteelandSouls Yes, women are disproportionately victims of rape by men (prison rape is a different kind of problem - not comparable to outside rape). I think that we should encourage cultural complimentarianism and practice legal egalitarianism.

2018-10-26 02:31:22 UTC

I agree with that

2018-10-26 02:31:53 UTC

Yeah. If men don’t want to be raped in prison, don’t do crap that gets you in prison.

2018-10-26 02:32:32 UTC

>wrongful convictions

2018-10-26 02:34:49 UTC

@Beemann Yes those happen, but I’d like to see an estimated percentage of how many convictions are wrongful. I just think it’s incorrect to compare prison rape with outside of prison rape. Fundamentally different situations

I don't think rape stops being rape if you don't like the victim. Further, wrongful convictions are a "one is too many" (to appropriate an anti semitic quote) situation

2018-10-26 02:37:08 UTC

Yeah, we shouldn't be complicit

2018-10-26 02:37:45 UTC

No one should worry about getting aids through violent anal rape because they did X

2018-10-26 02:38:19 UTC

I agree it is fundamentally different

2018-10-26 02:38:50 UTC

And needs to be handled differently

2018-10-26 02:39:36 UTC

@Beemann I agree that one wrongful conviction is too many and I agree that prison rape is bad. I just don’t think the situations are comparable. The risks are completely different. I do think judicial reform is necessary, which should include addressing prison rape. However, that doesn’t mean prison rape is comparable to outside of prison rape. The factors that lead to either are fundamentally different.

2018-10-26 02:41:08 UTC

Plus I'd be figuratively and literally fucked in prison if I went lol

2018-10-26 02:43:26 UTC

For general rape, we need to encourage women to take their safety into their own hands. Don’t leave drinks unattended, don’t wonder through unfamiliar areas alone or late a night, avoid getting in situations where you are alone with a man you can’t trust beyond a reasonable doubt, and carry a gun.

2018-10-26 02:43:49 UTC

VICTUM BLAMER

2018-10-26 02:44:03 UTC

Lol.

2018-10-26 02:44:03 UTC

Same advice goes to men for less rape reasons and more theft and murder reasons

2018-10-26 02:44:06 UTC

lol

2018-10-26 02:44:07 UTC

I try, mostly in vain, to get girls to protect themselves.

2018-10-26 02:44:15 UTC

That’s so true.

2018-10-26 02:44:38 UTC

They do so many dumb things

2018-10-26 02:44:50 UTC

Being young, never again

2018-10-26 02:45:13 UTC

🤦

2018-10-26 02:45:34 UTC

Guns are the great equalizer and if I was a woman I would for sure conceal carry

2018-10-26 02:46:14 UTC

Yeah. Same here. I don’t wonder in sketchy places alone at night.

2018-10-26 02:46:30 UTC

That’s just plain old common sense lll

2018-10-26 02:46:31 UTC

Lol

2018-10-26 02:46:44 UTC

Question, do people just carry where ever they are or?

2018-10-26 02:46:54 UTC

I'm looking into get such a license

2018-10-26 02:47:06 UTC

I can’t get a CCP in California so I can’t answer that!

2018-10-26 02:47:13 UTC

Why

2018-10-26 02:47:38 UTC

I’m not sure; I don’t even own a gun. I think Alabama does allow concealed carry though. I don’t know how you get it.

2018-10-26 02:47:39 UTC

"General rape"

2018-10-26 02:47:54 UTC

As opposed to specific rape

2018-10-26 02:48:04 UTC

You have to pretty much know a judge or be a retired police officer to get a CCP in Cali

2018-10-26 02:48:15 UTC

@Beemann it takes a lot of typing to say non-prison rape. Lol

2018-10-26 02:48:29 UTC

It’s just due to tons of rules and regulations here in Cali

2018-10-26 02:49:00 UTC

Thank goodness PA is easy peasy
