ya i saw a bit of that before
Apparently supporting Trump is a "Detremental to me as a black man"
Detrimental
Of course it is, and now go back into your black-person-box, where you belong!
Yeah, that's about right
Supporting Trump is empowering to me as a Hispanic trans woman
To say it is not disregards my lived experiences as an oppressed person of color
Basically my family is afraid of md being a Trump Supporter
And they think he's mean to the media
Oh here's what they said about the media's lies
"The Media can't be lying because trump could sue them"
I'm serious though. I voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and now I'm walking away from the Democratic Party after voting straight Dem my whole life
I did too
I walked away too
But it still kinda gets under my skin that being a Trump Supporter and a Black Man is a bad thing
Especially when it's being told to me by my own family
Their essentially saying that I can't think for myself because of the color of my skin
When it's from your own family is when it hurts the most
I understand
My family has a hard time with me being trans *and* for going conservative lmao
Like I don't think Trump is a saint nor do I expect miracles
But I think he means
Well
Yeah
This is why I'm trying to move out
They think the Legacy Media tells them
They think media never lies
And That everything is true because Trump won't sue
Do they know how hard it is to successfully bring a defamation suit?
Apparently not
My mom worked at WGN back in the 80's
So she thinks she knows
Jesus Christ, I just spent some time reading a reddit thread about some tabletop gaming site (rpg.net I think) banned any expression of support for the trump administration, and seeing the leftist bloviate was painful.
'The right wingers always whine about politics in media, when they were the ones that put it there in the first place!' Imagine being so far up your own ass that you don't even realize that your political bullshit that you push on everyone is political bullshit.
Ooooof
And the guy that said that explicitly referenced the token trans character in Beamdog's Baldur's Gate expansion, and acted like it was the height of bigotry to suggest that doesn't belong in a setting where magic, and magic items explicitly exist that can make you into the other sex.
I really don't like tokenization
I don't need shoehorned trans characters to feel good about being trans
They normally piss me off
I always have a hard time making the same argument against Krem in Dragon Age, because the limits of what magic can do isn't as well defined in that series, but in Baldur's Gate, you pick one of these off of a corpse: http://baldursgate.wikia.com/wiki/Girdle_of_Masculinity/Femininity
