If you call somebody by their gender that is obvious for everyone to see, is it still misgendering?

The Ma'am-guy

I use the Trying Rule. If the person is clearly trying to live as the appropriate gender but got bashed in with the genetic shovel, it's not their fault. There are tons of ugly ass cis women who look like men too

If they got some beard scruff, using their man voice, etc, um, no sorry, you get a he

So the Ma'am would have gotten a he for dropping to her man voice

Personally, I am not going to try and find out what your preferred way of being addressed is. In direct conversation between two people pronouns don't even come up, so it really shouldn't be a problem unless you make it one.
