the last people fighting in the Battle of Berlin were Muslims and Frenchmen

2019-03-09 21:24:48 UTC

I think it's not that they actually disbelieve that muslims hate jews enough to try their best to murder them at every turn, though some certainly believe that. I think it's more that most conspiracy theorists have a pet theory that they latch on to and suddenly it is the truth to them.

When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

What need has man for freedom or principles when there is vodka? 🇷🇺

I was thinking a little on the UBI and how one would go about making it more practical and palatable on the assumption that it must be implemented
how do you still cover people who need to live but still allow for enterprise and people to earn a living
I was thinking maybe something along the lines of Starship Troopers with the idea of service guarantees citizenship

the basic civilians would receive a modest income from the state just enough to get by but they don't get voting rights
the next tier up would be for people who serve society in some capacity even in small ways like volunteering, nursing, military police etc they'd get a large income and have voting rights (wages adjusted to the position)
the third class would be your regular worker

I think if UBI is going to happen this seems at least somewhat fair implementation of the system

2019-03-10 05:37:36 UTC

>more practical

2019-03-10 05:37:44 UTC

>UBI being anything practical

2019-03-10 05:37:45 UTC

just stop

2019-03-10 05:40:28 UTC

I'm not sure you want to go around telling others to stop... Many people were trying to get you to do that the other day.

2019-03-10 05:40:48 UTC

Nobody was, actually.

2019-03-10 05:41:12 UTC

If you cant accept that facts are facts, that isnt my problem

2019-03-10 05:41:51 UTC

You made yourself look really bad, it had nothing to do with your "fact".

2019-03-10 05:42:00 UTC

But feel free to keep doing it.

2019-03-10 05:43:35 UTC

Everything i posted was fact

2019-03-10 05:43:37 UTC

solar system destroyed with facts and logic

2019-03-10 05:43:53 UTC

lol

2019-03-10 05:44:14 UTC

Go ahead, try and debunk even a single thing i said

2019-03-10 05:44:16 UTC

you cant

2019-03-10 05:44:38 UTC

The things that I posted are historically documented events and facts

2019-03-10 05:46:24 UTC

I wish you the best, your doing things all wrong tho. Won't get that many people to listen/care to what you have to say.

2019-03-10 05:47:05 UTC

i have no idea what this about, for all I know he was posting dick pics

2019-03-10 05:47:25 UTC

2019-03-10 05:47:50 UTC

check your DMs lol

The closest thing to UBI I could reluctantly support was the way Milton Friedman described a negative income tax.
UBI just sounds awful

2019-03-10 13:48:39 UTC

I just posted in <#266400976267640833> where Friedman describes how that works

2019-03-10 13:54:09 UTC

@C1PHER yeah, I think negative income tax would work

2019-03-10 13:55:35 UTC

@Lord Zedd The problem with the UBI isn't the UBI, its who's in charge of the UBI.

2019-03-10 13:57:58 UTC

I once did some back-of-the-napkin calculations, and counting everyone on welfare as a recipient, and then every dollar of medicare, Social Security, and all other welfare programs designated as such by the Government, and it was somthing like $200,000 - $250,000 dollars to deliver $70,000 on average of benefits to every person on welfare anually.

2019-03-10 14:00:13 UTC

Huh?

2019-03-10 14:00:21 UTC

Could you explain that reasoning

2019-03-10 14:00:36 UTC

Why does it cost over $100,000 to provide $70,000 in benefits? Because every single person needs a case worker, and that case worker needs a manager, and that manager needs chain of 3 other managers who report to the HHS secretary, and then THAT bureaucracy needs an OVERSIGHT bureaucracy.

2019-03-10 14:01:56 UTC

Are you saying a case worker only has one client

2019-03-10 14:01:58 UTC

when you create a welfare program you're not only creating a welfare program for people who need it, you're creating a parasitic government program that sucks blood off the host.

2019-03-10 14:02:11 UTC

no, but there's a whole managment cluster for them too.

2019-03-10 14:02:47 UTC

and then there's building costs

2019-03-10 14:03:07 UTC

and those require maintenance people and electricity.

2019-03-10 14:03:24 UTC

I mean, we were on WIC, SNAP, and Medicaid and we literally only talked with a case worker once a year with WIC

2019-03-10 14:03:40 UTC

sure, but there are millions of people on those services.

2019-03-10 14:03:45 UTC

and you're also a normal human.

2019-03-10 14:04:05 UTC

like anything 20% of the people suck of 80% of the time.

2019-03-10 14:04:28 UTC

also those programs are paying for pensions for those workers.
