In culture war terms, that would basically mean giving ground where there can be no solid victory, and focusing on areas where a win will actually mean something. I just think that will ultimately not stop some level of collapse
One example: fuck twitter. Use other platforms. People are leaving Facebook. They'll eventually leave twitter if they don't fix their service. Light that fire under their asses or topple the site through mass exodus
Set up better systems focused around communication instead of groupthink.
The problem is the entire financial system ultimately is working against alternatives. Setting up alternative platforms is a fine idea, until you run into the question of how can you sustain such a thing
It depends on the form you want your alternatives to take. Minds currently dabbles in crypto, and there's a lot of discord/slack-likes with decentralized hosting. Forums have also been a consistent *thing*
Crypto is highly niche, and forums are liable to be shut down via hosting providers
Ultimately Twitter's ability to exclude, and the severity of that punishment, is determined paradoxically by how many people they have left. The more they exert their power, the less power they have
They're only liable if you're insistent on using other people's infrastructure and cannot trust those people
Otherwise it's purely a matter of having the resources to deal with bandwidth and electricity costs
Everyone on the internet is vulnerable at some point or another
Everyone on the internet is vulnerable at the point of access, when it comes to overall usage. Beyond that, it depends on how many corners you're cutting
I do think we need to "solve" the payment processor issue though
There must be some method for having an alternative transfer of resources
Meatspace works but it's not all that practical
Its not just payment processor issues.
we need to solve the credit card issue.
if a simple thing like a piece of plastic can be revoked from you at any time but it is litterally impossible to operate without it, some measure of 'fuck you' laws need to be in place about that relationship.
if the bank doesn't like what you do with your money you can say 'fuck you' and do it anyway.
none of this "you choose to use visa" its not physically possible to live all cash these days.
even the government is requiring cards these days.
Crowder Change My Mind
it's not a little ironic that cash used to be more of a hassle than plastic. now it's almost reversed. credit cards are becoming more of a hassle than cash with their clunky verification: chip readers, 3 digit cvv code, PIN # etc.
cash is quicker when you're in line at the store and it can't be revoked electronically
Yeah I've been meaning to move towards paying with cash for most things. I don't like the amount of data collection that credit cards are doing. Definitely a lot of ethics concerns with having companies be able to track spending habits at the resolution they can
it's annoying you find a new channel that's kind of interesting but as you go through videos you start to hear the leftist buzzwords slip in "Islamaphobia", "misogyny" and just ragging on gamergate out of nowhere...sigh
cash has never been a "hassle"
you just hand them the specified amount and leave
i'm that one guy who always has correct change
does that make a hero
I think so
Well, the best option is just to tell yourself the max you're gonna spend, then take that out of your wallet, and hand the max to the cashier / self checkout (mega gay)
let the cashier do the fucking around
for me the issue is less about time, but more about the capacity of carrying cash. I never have the correct scale of cash. If I have a huge purchase to make I only have a 20, If I have a tiny purchase to make i only have a 100.
the thing with accelerationism is that the right is so _not ready_ for 'rebuilding from the ashes' that it's absolutely shooting yourself in the foot to try to speed it all up.
and it _is_ a form of nihilism, defeatism, and surrender, just in a way that feels psychologically more like 'taking control' and 'being proactive.'
we've got extensive work just redpilling other conservatives before we 'burn it all down' or anything _near_ that, and there's so much more to fight _for_ than there is to fight _against_.
Also, accelerationism is rooted in marxism
>proletarian revolution
it's basically just what antifa believe, just burn it all down
Except not really
