You mean like being A Russian Agent!

2019-04-30 03:25:36 UTC

2019-04-30 03:30:39 UTC

heh

2019-04-30 03:31:41 UTC

unless youre trying to infer something that he actually was colluding... but hes been cleared of that from a multiple year investigation

2019-04-30 03:32:19 UTC

@Shadows
At this point, I wish Donny were a Russian agent, at least that way it'd be interesting.

2019-04-30 03:32:47 UTC

right now its just a bunch of repetitive nonsense from the left and their media

2019-04-30 03:36:03 UTC

@d3adlyz3bra No, i was just making the sad joke that some people believe still.

2019-04-30 03:36:24 UTC

@Mandatory Carry That would be fun.

2019-04-30 03:37:23 UTC

🤣🤣🤣🤣

2019-04-30 03:38:24 UTC

Trump should start throwing russian parties at the white house.

2019-04-30 03:46:48 UTC

I mean, Melania is Slovenian, plenty of leftists probably think that counts as Russia.

2019-04-30 05:21:39 UTC

sometimes being Aussie is awesome, I just saw a story about a Kangaroo loose in my hometown and the police are searching for it

2019-04-30 05:48:25 UTC

Emu war part deux?

2019-04-30 06:49:43 UTC

Along with a number of users on his server, reportedly

2019-04-30 11:43:31 UTC

Yeah, he has already made a new one. Still trying to get a link for it

2019-04-30 12:01:38 UTC

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation of why children think that unions are the magical cure for all the problems that the game development industry faces? The answers I'm getting on reddit mostly seem to be of the 'DOWNVOTE THE THOUGHT CRIMINAL!' variety.

2019-04-30 12:07:03 UTC

It isn't that they think it is that they have been told. The union removes the need to be competitive with other workers and the need to be your own negotiator. Which is very hard considering it isn't a skill that is used by many. When is the last time you went to a retail store and bartered a price?

2019-04-30 12:07:58 UTC

People have gotten lazy and now people just accept the first thing that gets slapped on their face wage/salary wise.

2019-04-30 12:08:35 UTC

Union does the work for you and all you have to do is pay them some of your money to do something for you

2019-04-30 12:08:39 UTC

Yeah, the actual answers people have given make me think they actually have no answer to that question beyond "Jim Sterling said it would make everything better!" or something similar.

2019-04-30 12:08:54 UTC

I assumed as such

2019-04-30 12:10:52 UTC

The real issue is developers are unwilling when it comes to it to use negotiation tactics. Which I understand in larger companies where companies can hire younger developers for less money.

2019-04-30 12:13:26 UTC

Ultimately you are screwed as a developer until "gamers rise up" and actually remember they are a consumer and they hold all the power.

2019-04-30 12:15:31 UTC

Honestly though as most children's entertainment goes most people consuming it are either kids or stunted adults. So asking them to both smarten up with their money when for the majority it isn't even their money is a hard sell.

2019-04-30 12:17:33 UTC

Unions exist to only benefit employees. They do nothing for the company and nothing for the consumers.

2019-04-30 12:18:06 UTC

The left likes unions because they take control of them and force everything to go in the direction they like.

2019-04-30 12:19:29 UTC

Just seems like the usual response of trying to break the laws of supply/demand

2019-04-30 12:21:37 UTC

The game industry workers suffer from being near-infinitely replaceable. So, rather than have to compete against each other by working longer hours for lower wages, they figure they can just team up and make those problems go away

2019-04-30 12:23:45 UTC

I simply decided I didn't want to compete in such a market and got a regular tech job as a software developer. I work fewer hours and (effectively) get paid more. Amazing how that works.

2019-04-30 12:35:48 UTC

Yeah. It’s like they don’t understand that there’s an oversupply in the market.

2019-04-30 12:40:18 UTC

They also don't get that it goes both ways: if an employer in such an oversaturated market wanted to pay them better wages or not have long working hours, other companies would beat them to market and they'd fail anyway.

2019-04-30 12:40:44 UTC

I feel like there should be a middle ground of complete control of unions and just a larger more knowledgable entity to assist employees

2019-04-30 14:31:30 UTC

anyone see this?

2019-04-30 14:31:37 UTC

my reaction...

2019-04-30 14:36:00 UTC

Cynet may very well be one of the contracting companies that my employer does business with. If that's the case, most of their current employees are Indian

2019-04-30 15:11:44 UTC

Yeah I was wondering if this was an attempted diversity initiative with bad optics, if not a joke that accidentally made it through lol
