Yeah, we could then include dopamine and then every conflict ever................
Sure it is. You could argue that the social status that comes along from being the winner is a resource.
To be a winner means taking the win from someone else. Now not all cases of playing games to win are the cause of greed, but say you have a rival, and the two of you constantly fight over being the better chess player, greed is the underlying emotion of the conflict.
Why would you care about being the better chess player if not for greed?
"say you have a rival" See my username
And everything is a resource unless it's infinitely available.
Something doesn't have to be tangible to be a resource.
I guess what I wonder is, how whittled down can the definition of resource become while retaining your having a point?
You are viewing these concepts way to simplistically DJ_Anuz.
Not sure i have time to expand on everything you misunderstand.
That's exactly what I said when I broke up with my last girlfriend.
She didn't want to do Anuz?
I stole that resource
Stole implies you are in possession of it now. Which would mean you killed her.
While I joke, I think you're right that the simplicity is the issue
Who said anything about her?
NOPE
lol
But jokes aside, I would like for elaboration
I'm having 10+ different arguments... And i would like to do other things before it gets to late.
DJ, what would a conflict look like, if not for resources, as you define them?
Good night Shadows
Your remaining is a resource causing conflict between DJ and I
😉
Do i use my resource of time to embattled myself!
No, the resource that would be fought over right now is wanting to win an argument.
In every conflict there is something that someone wants that leads them to the conflict.
And that idea that you will sacrifice the desire of another person to achieve what you want is greed.
Do you consider it greed when a fugitive task force catches a prison escapee?
I see a lot more than black and white
The prisoner is being greedy. The task force probably not.
Or is it only when it is unjustified?
Its when you do something at the expense of others
Obviously it's more grey in your instance because the task force is just doing their job. But the prisoner is certainly exhibiting greed.
No matter what you do, you will end up doing it at the expense of another person, somewhere along the line
Again I have to wonder, since you seem to be claiming all conflict has to do with resource acquisition, what would a conflict look like without that impetus, via your terms?
resources, jobs, the capacity for meaningful relationships, all are finite. Competition is an inherent part of human interaction
What would God need with a Starship?
Exactly, and competition is inherantly greedy.
Not that it's wrong.
I mean, conflict could arise between two people with different opinions on that interpersonal level, do we then say the resource is the winner's opinion?
I dont see it necessarily as greed
There are varrying levels to greed.
