You have no idea, @Legalize...
It's sad really. If YouTube had just stuck to their free speech guns and told advertisers:
"Look, your ads might be on some edgy content because that's the nature of the beast. If you put up a billboard you can't if someone puts up another billboard and puts something racist on it. Ignore the mob, it will pass."
It would work just fine. YouTube has a monopoly on ad space, do they really think that companies that pull ads won't be back once everything boils over?
Instead they're killing their platform to appease faux social justice.
They don't care.
First of all, they don't think that they will suffer any major consequences for it, but even if they did, they'd rather play thought police than maintain their dominance.
I don't agree with Vox Day on a lot of things but his angle on SJW 'convergence' makes sense of the behavior. SJWs infilitrate and take over companies for the purpose of their moral crusades, they hire other SJWs, and they don't care about profit. It eventually implodes the company if they aren't ruthlessly opposed at the start. Google seems to be converging along with lots of other Silicon Valley firms which is why you see all this weird non-competitive self-destructive moral signalling.
It's a good thing they're Too Big To Fail (tm) :^)
