It won't be easy, but already multiple high profile creators have been leaving YouTube. It won't happen overnight but eventually, unless YouTube stops pandering to corporate players will end up hemoraging users and other services will fill the void.

most of the content on youtube is non-political

and as far as i can tell, there are far less dramas in that world than in the political world

so while right wingers will get angry and try other platforms

not many people will follow them

(i do agree though, i dont like what youtube is doing on the political front and it would be suicide if they did it for all their content)

I don't remember their names, but 14 of the first people that were in the YouTube partners program have left the platform, and you have lots of YouTube creators hosting their content on multiple platforms now too. Even non political channels.

For me as a user, constantly being fed msm videos in my trending tab really irks me. Especially when those videos still don't get views.

The only thing I look at is the subscribed list.

@DJ_Anuz, not sure how you think YT is going to be go irrelevant. There are at least a dozen differnt alt-tech platforms and the sadly small free speech crowd is spread out amoung them. Most wouldn't even know about those other platofrms without YT. Google spends next to nothing to keep YT running and keeps raking in the ad revenue. (nowhere else to spend it) If one of your fav creators is removed, you just watch ANOTHER YT video (with ads) to figure out why. They still get paid no matter how much they censor. YT is a cash cow and despite Google never giving two shits about the users, it has still remained the go-to platfom for almost a decade. Compared to the money they make with their other services that mine your data, YT is an afterthought for them. Could be wrong.. just don't see it

the thing is that all other platforms that exist, try to be youtube, without the free speech restrictions, which is just not enough to unseat youtube, the alternative that would bring down youtube, would need to be 100% better, not just 5%, in order to get a normie to switch
