The world may never know
I seem to remember Kevin saying, in youtube chat, that he doesn't like Discord. He seemed adamant he wouldn't get it

HAIL FLANAGAN
I had to go to the DMV today to renew my ID. There was a new option for 'Real ID'. I asked what this was all about, this is scary af "Oh, in 2020 you won't be able to take any flights within the US without a Real ID or a passport". So no longer will you be able to travel from say Texas to New York (intra US) with out this new ID or passport.
My wife was just telling me about this
Her nephew was told the same thing
yup
what do they require for a "real" ID?
birthcert or SSN
my wife has a non-real DL
its fucking gay
Birth Certificate, proof of SS and 2 documents proving residence (bills etc..)
I mean that's just basically an enhanced driver's licence. Do they track it or something?
idk, all I know is it puts a gold star on your id.
better than a chip in my brain
oh it's *Federal*
my bad
not it makes sense
Beginning on October 1, 2020, the federal government will require your driver license, permit or ID card to be REAL ID compliant if you wish to use it as identification to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.), or enter military bases and certain federal facilities.
Enhanced driver license, permit, or non-driver ID and valid U.S. Passport are already REAL ID compliant and can be used to board a flight.
The REAL ID Act
Passed by Congress in 2005, the REAL ID Act establishes minimum security standards for state-issued driver licenses, permits and ID cards. The Act also prohibits federal agencies, like the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), from accepting cards for official purposes from states that do not meet these standards.
This came from the 9/11 hysteria I'm assuming
prolly
Patriot Act shit
I mean it's not awful it's just not exactly encouraging ether
You have to ask yourself, what would this do. Maybe it's to maintain a federal DB of issued cards to combat counter fit credentials. Cards are already in a DB but it's per state
Thats the only reason I can think of
it's also a national registry that prevents non-registrars from commercial air travel or entrance into any federal building
They can also revoke your flight ability without effecting your id
maybe... idk
I fly with my passport, is that a worthless document now?
shouldn't be
unless it's old af
naw
it expires in 2024
