I need something bigger, kindle small as shit

2017-01-15 18:15:11 UTC

I used to have one when the gen 1s were launched.

2017-01-15 18:15:18 UTC

honestly what I like to do is just get a PDF of the ebook, run it in browser, and use the spritzlet

2017-01-15 18:15:22 UTC

@Archy buy multiple kindles and glue them together it'll only cost 80$ x4

2017-01-15 18:15:23 UTC

to speed read it

2017-01-15 18:15:26 UTC

I got a Kindle Paperwhite, it's rock solid!

2017-01-15 18:15:33 UTC

Paper kindles are pretty decent but screen tearing happens at low power iirc.

2017-01-15 18:15:52 UTC

@Deleted User speed readings pointless for IT documentation

2017-01-15 18:15:59 UTC

1000 page pdfs (usualy jsut high-dpi scanned images) make avg computers slow as fuck

2017-01-15 18:16:00 UTC

Would it be better to get a tablet

2017-01-15 18:16:06 UTC

(depends on reader too probly

2017-01-15 18:16:15 UTC

@Archy you won't beat kindles on the screens for reading in public

2017-01-15 18:16:45 UTC

you could diykindle with raspbi and kindle screen ":D"

2017-01-15 18:16:46 UTC

Let me go google

2017-01-15 18:16:51 UTC

but that would require effort

2017-01-15 18:17:15 UTC

If your reading on it, Kindles are the way to go. Looks like paper, and has a hella great batterylife.

2017-01-15 18:17:25 UTC

@Austin how is glare on the paperwhite?

2017-01-15 18:18:10 UTC

Are we talking in sunlight or?

2017-01-15 18:18:26 UTC

how are the best kindles in sunlight?

2017-01-15 18:18:33 UTC

^onyx

2017-01-15 18:18:43 UTC

not kindle but best thing for sunlight

2017-01-15 18:18:47 UTC

expensive as fuck tho

2017-01-15 18:18:52 UTC

It's unnoticeable. Don't glare back, it's matte screens.

2017-01-15 18:19:02 UTC

oh fuck

2017-01-15 18:19:05 UTC

ima buy a kindle

2017-01-15 18:19:11 UTC

generaly all E-inki screens are damn good to read on sunlight

2017-01-15 18:19:35 UTC

Exactly.

2017-01-15 18:19:41 UTC

Pick the Kindle Paperwhite.

2017-01-15 18:19:44 UTC

It's great.

2017-01-15 18:20:02 UTC

I got the impression the backlighting would screw with the e-ink. Don't really understand how it works.

2017-01-15 18:20:02 UTC

Runs on E-Ink, so doesn't use battery unless you load a new page.

2017-01-15 18:20:11 UTC

It doesn't.

2017-01-15 18:20:16 UTC

@Archy the onyx thing Tervy mentioned is bigger than kindles

2017-01-15 18:20:38 UTC

Chinks deliver

2017-01-15 18:20:59 UTC

well that ones much cheaper

2017-01-15 18:21:10 UTC

rip aus

2017-01-15 18:21:33 UTC

I can't talk about the DX model, I'd recommend the Paperwhite.

2017-01-15 18:21:38 UTC

Just my 2 cents.

2017-01-15 18:22:24 UTC

Do I buy one of the cheap kindles
