bench trial? you let the judge make the decision?

2019-12-19 00:01:02 UTC

you can wave it @Catboi

2019-12-19 00:01:03 UTC

Judge decided if I was guilty. After pushing the case through all three iterations of charges.

2019-12-19 00:01:34 UTC

why did you wave it tho?

2019-12-19 00:01:45 UTC

I could get a jury trial, and I was offered to see the jury beforehand. All old people, mostly women.

2019-12-19 00:02:02 UTC

the jury was already selected?

2019-12-19 00:02:05 UTC

what?

2019-12-19 00:02:05 UTC

Sounds like you were tricked

2019-12-19 00:02:08 UTC

TBH

2019-12-19 00:02:13 UTC

And taking it to trial meant I would be risking 45 years in prison if guilty.

2019-12-19 00:02:15 UTC

bro..jury selection is sometrhing you do with your lawyer...

2019-12-19 00:02:22 UTC

Was just going to say why would you waive your right to a trial

2019-12-19 00:02:27 UTC

lol oh i see what you did

2019-12-19 00:02:29 UTC

you plead

2019-12-19 00:02:32 UTC

toook a deal

2019-12-19 00:02:40 UTC

lol thats not a trial

2019-12-19 00:02:42 UTC

Well I was 19 and didn't know law stuff.

2019-12-19 00:02:57 UTC

thats you pleading guilty to a lesser charge for a reduced sentence.

2019-12-19 00:03:08 UTC

explains the conviction via "heresay"

2019-12-19 00:03:18 UTC

Yeah if you plead guilty

2019-12-19 00:03:22 UTC

so what really happened?

2019-12-19 00:03:23 UTC

it's not Hearsay

2019-12-19 00:03:42 UTC

The evidence against me was hearsay.

2019-12-19 00:03:53 UTC

so what all happened?

2019-12-19 00:03:57 UTC

That's not what convicted you

2019-12-19 00:03:58 UTC

whats the story?

2019-12-19 00:04:04 UTC

if you plead guilty

2019-12-19 00:04:10 UTC

they don't need to do anything

2019-12-19 00:04:27 UTC

They've got you on your own words at that point.

2019-12-19 00:04:48 UTC

If you really were innocent, it sounds like you were tricked into taking a "deal"

2019-12-19 00:05:07 UTC

because, that's not beyond a reasonable doubt...

2019-12-19 00:08:31 UTC

Story started as that I attempted to rape a nine year old girl. Which I had proof by my employer that I was at work at the time it supposedly took place. And lie detector test on both me and the kid showed it didn't happen. So it became a sodomy charge on a different day. But I didn't work that day and couldn't disprove that I couldn't have done it. But no lie detector test for me or the kid for that one. And the kid refused to go on stand. Prosecutor claimed it was cause she was too traumatized to talk about it.

2019-12-19 00:09:30 UTC

lie detecter tests arent admissible in court...

2019-12-19 00:09:55 UTC

They are if they provide evidence against you.

2019-12-19 00:09:55 UTC

you can take one sure, but it does nothing

2019-12-19 00:10:02 UTC

no you legit cant use them

2019-12-19 00:10:27 UTC

so who is this girl?

2019-12-19 00:10:32 UTC

why do you know her?

2019-12-19 00:10:40 UTC

T is right. And it's because there is zero scientific about polygraphs.

2019-12-19 00:11:07 UTC

i come from a family of lawyers, and im no stranger to the courts from all my fighting.

2019-12-19 00:11:20 UTC

It amounted to the mother going on the stand claiming that her daughter told her I did this in private, but wouldn't give a statement to the police cause she was scared of them.
