There are contracts the state needs to set aside for small business and women and minorities get priority. There are tax breaks for hiring any contractor in a business owned by anyone else except for white men

Also I found out after the fact when I tried to apply to more jobs that they had put me in as a "data entry analyst" to game the system at the contractor agency.

I only found that out later when I called in about something else... I wonder how many employers called to confirm my employment and just heard an automated machine at Randstad tell them i was a data entry analyst.

You really just have to be indispensible. And willing to do shit girls don't want to do.

I've been through the same thing so many times. I think some of the most blatant examples are when I interviewed at a company who kept talking about how diverse they were and the phone interview was with a black guy from south africa

Another was when I was asked to come into an interview to talk to the same people (Jewish women in NY) I was on the phone with. I answered all of their questions and prepared demonstrations and they said that they were concerned I wouldn't "fit in the culture"

Then they talked about a lesbian data scientist and an Indian guy who just left.

She ended up just promoting the girl into the engineer position I was applying for. She had no engineering experience at all and was a cheerleader in school. I didn't even get to take the technical assessment
