2019-12-18 09:30:18 UTC

That's it. Chapters 5 and 6 are what looked good to me

fuck is it?

2019-12-18 09:34:24 UTC

Maybe

2019-12-18 09:34:30 UTC

I'm reading some of the controversy surrounding it but

2019-12-18 09:37:29 UTC

"...overall correlation of .30 of brain size to intelligence..."

2019-12-18 09:37:35 UTC

lmao

That paper is single author though. J. Phillipe Rushton... I'll check and see if he's credible (or been shit on by the community)

2019-12-18 09:41:10 UTC

Meh. Psychology is pretty shit so... I'm just gonna hold out for more from neurology, neuropsychology, and empirics

2019-12-18 09:43:19 UTC

There's a lot of bias in this controversy so it's basically awash

2019-12-18 09:45:27 UTC

@sydtko its regarding goulds criticism of psychometrics its written by a philosopher of science

2019-12-18 09:45:59 UTC

I'm aware of quite a lot of the critiques but meh

2019-12-18 09:50:57 UTC

this is a novel contribution not making the same arguments

2019-12-18 09:52:23 UTC

Yeah, I see that it is recent, but I dunno if/when I'll read the whole paper

2019-12-18 10:05:48 UTC

@Deleted User 6a019ab66177 why are you posting people?

2019-12-18 10:07:10 UTC

Nice debunked book @sydtko

2019-12-18 10:07:30 UTC
2019-12-18 10:10:37 UTC

@Deleted User Gizmo was talking about it so I looked it up... I wouldn't say it's all debunked but yeah, he did not put forward a holistic or honest analysis without bias. Gould cherry picked and no doubt in my mind Charles Murray cherry picked

2019-12-18 10:11:07 UTC

I was memeing tbh

2019-12-18 10:11:17 UTC

But if was responded to

2019-12-18 10:11:22 UTC

So...... that leaves me back in the skeptical boat
I believe brain size most likely will have some impact on your potential g-factor...
And you can isolate that by legit chopping up people's brains, but I don't think it's one of the more important factors

2019-12-18 10:11:27 UTC

It was, yes...

2019-12-18 10:11:28 UTC

By murrady and what's his name

2019-12-18 10:11:49 UTC

There was a recent study claiming glial cells and lots of genes were important as well to g factor

2019-12-18 10:11:56 UTC

Charles Murray and Richard Lynn?

2019-12-18 10:12:02 UTC

They're both ... very biased

2019-12-18 10:12:46 UTC

And most moronic race realists ignore that ***rolled into the definition of hereditary is your childhood upbringing*** and heavy elements of your SES

2019-12-18 10:13:30 UTC

So if you were at all honest about the memes underlying genetics... you'd want equivalent SES to see how distinctions arise (socialism)
Equivalent material conditions aside genetics

2019-12-18 10:13:38 UTC

Have you read into this?

2019-12-18 10:13:47 UTC

Quite a bit over a long while, yes

2019-12-18 10:13:48 UTC

Hagar has found a home

2019-12-18 10:13:56 UTC

This server is a place where she feels elevated

2019-12-18 10:14:13 UTC

I've been interested in IQ since like ... 16 and I'm 31, so

2019-12-18 10:15:19 UTC

And anyone actually having paid attention to it ought realize it's getting more and more complex with more discovery
Because epigenetics, optogenetics and neuropsychology are basically entirely new fields
