That good?

2017-02-23 03:50:03 UTC

for like a quarter of the price

2017-02-23 03:50:07 UTC

this is why /g/ is chimping out

2017-02-23 03:50:10 UTC

and laughing at intel

2017-02-23 03:50:16 UTC

Ryzen 7 1700 is base price NZD$499

2017-02-23 03:50:36 UTC

What about intel shills claiming that single thread perf is still bad?

2017-02-23 03:50:44 UTC

any weight to to that at all?

2017-02-23 03:51:16 UTC

this is 2017

2017-02-23 03:51:21 UTC

single thread performance is worse

2017-02-23 03:51:29 UTC

but everything's moving to multicore

2017-02-23 03:51:35 UTC

What's Kaby Lake in NZD?

2017-02-23 03:51:38 UTC

you're still getting an amazing CPU

2017-02-23 03:51:46 UTC

Yeah

2017-02-23 03:53:12 UTC

better multi-threading, but another NZD$150?

2017-02-23 03:53:14 UTC

i don't know

2017-02-23 04:03:40 UTC

real ryzen hours

2017-02-23 04:15:44 UTC
2017-02-23 04:16:06 UTC

Have some leeway from 480s in crossfire

2017-02-23 04:16:14 UTC

Or is that truly needed for 1080p?

2017-02-23 04:19:14 UTC

If intel reduces prices on 7700 ryzen will be btfo for gaymurs

2017-02-23 04:19:24 UTC

for adults doing work ryzen is king

2017-02-23 04:21:13 UTC

but do I need 2 x 480 for 1080p going forwards?

2017-02-23 04:21:35 UTC

how long will 2 x 480 last for solid 1080p gaming vs 1 x 480?

2017-02-23 04:23:48 UTC

having a 4gb 480 at 1.3Ghz it's doing ok

2017-02-23 04:24:26 UTC

yeah, but how long is that

2017-02-23 04:24:30 UTC

having two will definitely extend the effective lifespan of your gaming setup

2017-02-23 04:24:32 UTC

ok going to be for

2017-02-23 04:24:35 UTC

what do you mean by how long

2017-02-23 04:24:45 UTC

upgrade wise

2017-02-23 04:24:56 UTC

go as long as possible without the need of an upgrade

2017-02-23 04:25:23 UTC

well it really depends on what you're doing and what you expect from your activities

2017-02-23 04:26:02 UTC

if you want full 200fps at 1080p at max graphics for all future titles within the next 5 years then invest in three titans

2017-02-23 04:26:17 UTC

We're aiming for 60fps @ 1080p

2017-02-23 04:26:28 UTC

maybe dual monitor 2560x1080

2017-02-23 04:26:42 UTC

tfw 480-4 is more expensive than 1060-3 here

2017-02-23 04:26:42 UTC

if you're a casual gamer that doesn't really mind a small decrease in cosmetics, then 1 will probably last 5 years

2017-02-23 04:26:46 UTC

by alot

2017-02-23 04:27:24 UTC

I've had a 6850 for the past 7 years and it served me well

2017-02-23 04:27:42 UTC

tfw 480-4 is more or less the same price than 1060-3 here

2017-02-23 04:29:15 UTC

well if you're going for two monitors and want as much graphical performance for future titles, one 480 might last you 4 years at most, 3 if we're going with more triple A title releases
