it's the next thing i'm replacing

2017-06-14 18:41:35 UTC

so it's even worse than ramps

2017-06-14 18:41:47 UTC

it works fine if you only need the one extruder

2017-06-14 18:42:02 UTC

also: they advertise 0.1mm layer height, this is false

2017-06-14 18:42:10 UTC

i can print at 0.04mm reliably on it

2017-06-14 18:42:43 UTC

the 0.1 is just to play it safe i guess

2017-06-14 18:43:10 UTC

is the guy with the xiaomi pen here?

2017-06-14 18:43:32 UTC

also i really wish i knew about huion actually beong good before i bought wacom

2017-06-14 18:43:59 UTC

i haven't touched my wacom since i got this thing

2017-06-14 18:44:30 UTC

>supported out of the box in linux no special drivers required >twice the levels of pressure sensitivity >twice the size still costs half as much

2017-06-14 18:44:31 UTC

fuck wacom

2017-06-14 18:46:01 UTC

can't you just hack in a spindle on your 3d printer and have a cnc mill

2017-06-14 19:11:04 UTC

nah

2017-06-14 19:11:47 UTC

cartesian 3d printers use belts to drive a very lightweight effector and bed back and forth along rails

2017-06-14 19:12:12 UTC

which is fine when the only stresses you need to overcome are the momentum of a little bit of aluminum and air resistance

2017-06-14 19:12:54 UTC

but on a router you're pushing a heavy motor around, with a spinny bit on the end cutting sideways through a fairly hard material, so belts will just slip

2017-06-14 19:13:05 UTC

gotta heva lead screws on all axis for a mill or router

2017-06-14 19:14:30 UTC

there's a guy working on an EDM head to fit on 3d printers, and that could work, but EDM isn't as versatile as just a really hard piece of tungsten carbide spinning really fast

2017-06-14 19:26:29 UTC

better to spend the $500-$1000 on one of those 3040 routers

2017-06-14 19:26:53 UTC

may even mess with spending more for the fourth and fifth axis and maybe even the lathe attachments for

What kind of monopoly money is this

2017-06-14 20:03:20 UTC

kebabbucks

2017-06-14 20:03:50 UTC

sadly takstar pro 80s are above my budget 😦

2017-06-14 20:04:06 UTC

They dont make the hi2050s anymore either

2017-06-14 20:04:21 UTC

I dont think there are actually any decent chifi fullsize headphones for that budget

2017-06-14 20:04:49 UTC

the infographic says otherwise

2017-06-14 20:07:47 UTC

was thinking if I should try hyperx clouds as they are basically takstar pro 80s or if I should go for something like Superlux HD668B again

2017-06-14 20:08:11 UTC

I just dont wanna buy "gaming" headset just for sound, that seems like a waste of money to me

2017-06-14 20:08:45 UTC

Did you check local stuff / thomann?

2017-06-14 20:09:14 UTC

allegedly the ISK HP2011 is a pro80 clone

2017-06-14 20:10:28 UTC

nevermind, infographic says it's 50 ameribucks/ it's 100 on AE

2017-06-14 20:22:39 UTC

681Evo are okay

2017-06-14 20:31:43 UTC

anyone interested in product reviews? maybe we could arrange something

2017-06-14 20:31:53 UTC

to make or to watch

2017-06-14 20:32:00 UTC

both!

2017-06-14 20:32:18 UTC

I've ordered loads of stuff for an example and could do few for others

2017-06-14 20:32:36 UTC

I could host them on my chink generator site

2017-06-14 20:34:07 UTC

yknow, i should run a chi-fi blog now i think about it

2017-06-14 20:34:26 UTC

would probably be more interesting than my "bunch of random bullshit on wildly different topics" thing
