😄

2017-06-19 00:23:32 UTC

well, fluke makes their scopemeters

2017-06-19 00:23:47 UTC

but those are still super expensive for what you get

2017-06-19 00:23:54 UTC

that kind of money gets you a nice tek or keysight

2017-06-19 00:24:05 UTC

I simply find that the BigClive guy is a more reasonable go-to for home gamer stuff.

2017-06-19 00:24:15 UTC

definitely

2017-06-19 00:24:23 UTC

Dave's fine, don't get me wrong, but Clive's a chink at heart.

2017-06-19 00:24:36 UTC

eevblog is better for people who're looking to go more into it or engineering students or just actual engineers

2017-06-19 00:24:41 UTC

Aye.

2017-06-19 00:24:53 UTC

I know next to nothing about the stuff, but I still very much enjoy EEVBlog.

2017-06-19 00:24:55 UTC

he's pretty good for a "i like it enough to actually put some Money into this hobby" too

2017-06-19 00:25:25 UTC

i've considered doing teardowns of chink things like bigclive does

2017-06-19 00:25:52 UTC

Go for it.

2017-06-19 00:25:59 UTC

Doesn't take a lot in terms of equipment.

2017-06-19 00:25:59 UTC

but most of it's just really not very interesting, epoxy blob over a cob

2017-06-19 00:26:03 UTC

😄

2017-06-19 00:26:11 UTC

i have a lot more than i really need in terms of equipment

2017-06-19 00:26:29 UTC

that gutted box in the pic is the case i haven't put the microohmmeter in yet

2017-06-19 00:26:48 UTC

No, I mean for the actual recording.

2017-06-19 00:26:56 UTC

upgrading my scope soon if i get the two apartments thing sorted, i really need four channels

2017-06-19 00:26:57 UTC

Clive's just using a shitty phone for the camera, after all.

2017-06-19 00:27:01 UTC

oh, yeah

2017-06-19 00:27:46 UTC

The "sorry for zooming" stuff has annoyed me lately, speaking of...

2017-06-19 00:27:48 UTC
2017-06-19 00:27:57 UTC

Can't see why people would be bothered by him zooming.

2017-06-19 00:28:17 UTC

That means nothing to me. I know how to close circuits, that's basically it.

2017-06-19 00:28:20 UTC

its a headphone amp just use a voltage divider lmao

2017-06-19 00:28:35 UTC

they used a precision rail splitter, an opamp to buffer, then a $10 buffer amp ic

2017-06-19 00:28:40 UTC

for balanced virtual ground

2017-06-19 00:29:14 UTC

when really you could just use two resistors two capacitors and have two batteries in series for headroom instead of worrying about +4v-5v vs +-4.5v on your rails

2017-06-19 00:29:24 UTC

See... I watch these guys, plus a fair bit of Herr Rossmann. But I understand very little. 😄

2017-06-19 00:29:34 UTC

Picking things up along the way, sure, but slooooowly.

2017-06-19 00:29:46 UTC

i recommend colin cunningham

2017-06-19 00:31:02 UTC

Collin with two L:s!

2017-06-19 00:31:07 UTC

😄

2017-06-19 00:31:16 UTC

ye

2017-06-19 00:31:40 UTC

Got a good laugh out of seeing the actor though, I'll tell you.

2017-06-19 00:32:34 UTC

I'll give him a go anyway. 👍
