Alright, he does have a video where he links to a bunch of budget stuff. But he doesn't recommend it. 😄
no, his one for a forrserious lab
i mean he works for a lab
also the rigol ds1054z is his standard oscope rec
and it's a $400 chinese scope
he goes hard on multimeters but honestly it's worth going kinda hard there esp. if you're measuring mains
hell dave uses the same chink reflow station i do
costs $50
also he's right about those pocket mini scopes those are uuuuseless
😄
well, fluke makes their scopemeters
but those are still super expensive for what you get
that kind of money gets you a nice tek or keysight
I simply find that the BigClive guy is a more reasonable go-to for home gamer stuff.
definitely
Dave's fine, don't get me wrong, but Clive's a chink at heart.
eevblog is better for people who're looking to go more into it or engineering students or just actual engineers
Aye.
I know next to nothing about the stuff, but I still very much enjoy EEVBlog.
he's pretty good for a "i like it enough to actually put some Money into this hobby" too
Go for it.
Doesn't take a lot in terms of equipment.
but most of it's just really not very interesting, epoxy blob over a cob
😄
i have a lot more than i really need in terms of equipment
that gutted box in the pic is the case i haven't put the microohmmeter in yet
No, I mean for the actual recording.
upgrading my scope soon if i get the two apartments thing sorted, i really need four channels
Clive's just using a shitty phone for the camera, after all.
oh, yeah
The "sorry for zooming" stuff has annoyed me lately, speaking of...
also check this ridiculous bullshit out https://tangentsoft.net/elec/bitmaps/vgrounds/gnd-channel.png
Can't see why people would be bothered by him zooming.
That means nothing to me. I know how to close circuits, that's basically it.
its a headphone amp just use a voltage divider lmao
they used a precision rail splitter, an opamp to buffer, then a $10 buffer amp ic
for balanced virtual ground
when really you could just use two resistors two capacitors and have two batteries in series for headroom instead of worrying about +4v-5v vs +-4.5v on your rails
See... I watch these guys, plus a fair bit of Herr Rossmann. But I understand very little. 😄
Picking things up along the way, sure, but slooooowly.
