I bought chink sdr dongle too, hoping I can use it with my first gen pi

I've tried it on the opi zero but I got usb issues so I tried out the rpi image instead

How did you go about placing the antenna?

the blue one is meant to have R820T2 whereas the black one is R820T or something

supposedly better

right now I have the antenna dangling outside my window which gives me a pretty decent 100km ~120° range southwards

how's the reception if you just place it inside next to the window?

the rpi broadcasts raw data on port 30002 and 30003 which you can use for all kinds of apps, including flight sim

Barely anything flies over here but I'm gonna be living like 6-7 miles away from london heathrow soon

uptime isn't 100% yet because it hasnt ran for 24 hours

hoping to expand the range when I get the new antenna, it comes with a 3 meter cable which should allow me to chuck it onto the roof

though I'll probably mount a wooden plate on it so it stays upright lol

if I can get the second sdr working on the orange pi zero then that's going to be awesome

what software are you using btw? the one from flightradar24?

@transience also samsung is more reliable and faster
