yeah that one. I've seen the same picture a couple of times now

2017-07-08 21:00:08 UTC

hi chink shit gods

2017-07-08 21:01:26 UTC

would anyone be knowledgable about cheap dac amp?

2017-07-08 21:01:50 UTC

i would like to ugprade from shit ele d02 i got to something a bit better but under $60

2017-07-08 21:01:59 UTC

@Kaytee is your man

2017-07-08 21:02:13 UTC

henlo

2017-07-08 21:02:29 UTC

this comunity is so helpful already

2017-07-08 21:02:31 UTC

@Goa ele d02 is actually a decent dac though tbh

2017-07-08 21:02:44 UTC

it shoots high for the money i admit

2017-07-08 21:02:48 UTC

i'd just get an amp to go with it

2017-07-08 21:02:49 UTC

i think i paid it 10 bucks

2017-07-08 21:02:59 UTC

this version has amp already

2017-07-08 21:03:10 UTC

d01 only dac, 02 dac and amp

2017-07-08 21:03:18 UTC

it just looks like a generic Pcm2704 dac

2017-07-08 21:03:24 UTC

i actually ordered one of those a while back

2017-07-08 21:03:30 UTC

a bit curious what $10 can do

2017-07-08 21:03:31 UTC

wouldnt mind having something clearer and with more power for down lows

2017-07-08 21:03:45 UTC

i would turn system volume way down and use a standalone amp for the ele d02 since being powered off usb itll clip sooner than something powered off 9v wall wart or even a battery

2017-07-08 21:04:04 UTC

that's gonna be your main problem with usb dac/amp combos and is solved by simply adding a separate amp stage

2017-07-08 21:04:19 UTC

got it

2017-07-08 21:04:19 UTC

Hullo, I'm new in the discord. So what's happening there that doesn't in thread?

2017-07-08 21:04:24 UTC

esp. since it uses that nice TI dac is with the usb controller built in, it's actually very nice

2017-07-08 21:04:35 UTC

@Asymptote hot deals and shitposting

2017-07-08 21:04:57 UTC

Nice.

2017-07-08 21:05:09 UTC

@Goa look for a cmoy, make sure it's a two 9v battery one though

2017-07-08 21:05:31 UTC

kayteekobold, i had topping nx3 i believe amp just to try it out, didnt hear anything better. dont know if dac id the weak sauce in all this then or not. one of my channels sometimes doesnt work on this thing anymore so another reason id like a slight upgrade

2017-07-08 21:05:42 UTC

that way you have +-9v rails instead of +-4.5v rails, never ever clip at reasonable headphone volumes, will drive higher impedance headphones without clipping than the single battery one will as well

2017-07-08 21:06:01 UTC

@Goa these days you have to go out of your way to get a dac that doesn't sound perfect

2017-07-08 21:06:15 UTC

's all about having sufficient amp and a good headphone/speaker

2017-07-08 21:07:12 UTC

thats an interesting stance on it. will think about that.

2017-07-08 21:08:13 UTC

generally the amp won't make it sound better unless the amp on whatever source device has low output current keeping you from pushing enough power around or low voltage rails causing clipping

2017-07-08 21:08:37 UTC

but especially at higher volumes you should hear a difference between the ele dac alone and with an amp after it

2017-07-08 21:09:27 UTC

donot listen to the audiophools, keeping a clean signal all the way to the headphone/speaker doesn't cost a load of money unless you want to buy from western brands

2017-07-08 21:10:06 UTC

@Kaytee so with this thing half working(sometimes i have to use line out for my headphones) is there something a bit cheaper than fx audio x6 i could try?

2017-07-08 21:10:56 UTC

>tpa6120

2017-07-08 21:10:59 UTC

audiophoolery

2017-07-08 21:11:17 UTC

also trust me, you will hear no improvement from 24/192 over 16/44.1

2017-07-08 21:12:12 UTC

24 bit only increases the dynamic range from "if the quietest is clearly audible, the loudest will permanently deafen you also no music exists that uses the whole dynamic range" of 16 bit to "same but the files are bigger"

2017-07-08 21:12:25 UTC

yeah i dont care really about such high sample rates or uncrompressed. I like more having capable hardware that makes me able to EQ properly for the music im listening to.

2017-07-08 21:12:27 UTC

192 is only "now your pet bat can enjoy the ultrasonic edm you made it"

2017-07-08 21:13:16 UTC

btw @Kaytee i apreciate how you explain everything
