2017-07-08 21:18:50 UTC

@Windatica please gibe impressions

@Kaytee so can you recommend anything cheap?

2017-07-08 21:22:11 UTC

@Goa cmoy is generally as good option, if you wanna look at tubes and get that tube noise injection little bear is like $60 and has a tube preamp

2017-07-08 21:22:44 UTC

's actually just 5532 driving the headphones though so it doesn't have the output current for any really high impedance headphones

2017-07-08 21:22:54 UTC

neither will most cmoy variants

2017-07-08 21:23:06 UTC

now I can have even better airflow

2017-07-08 21:24:01 UTC

@Kaytee okay thank you. I will however try to find something already assembled along with the dac.

2017-07-08 21:24:14 UTC

or seperate but buy both

2017-07-08 21:24:24 UTC

fiio e10k

2017-07-08 21:26:26 UTC

a bit expensive

2017-07-08 21:26:51 UTC

i'm not too big on combos so i can't vouch for the amp in most of the budget ones

2017-07-08 21:27:05 UTC

i can solder, no problem

2017-07-08 21:27:26 UTC

reee

2017-07-08 21:27:30 UTC

shorten links

2017-07-08 21:27:37 UTC

tpa6120, it'll be great

2017-07-08 21:27:40 UTC

you are right sorry, i was doing it in a hurry

2017-07-08 21:27:44 UTC

do be aware it probably won't come with schematic though

2017-07-08 21:27:53 UTC

so you basically just have to know how to make an amp anyway

2017-07-08 21:28:08 UTC

good point

2017-07-08 21:28:15 UTC

not a bad deal for $18

2017-07-08 21:28:31 UTC

cheaper than you could reasonably buy the components for just one finished amp on digikey or whatever

2017-07-08 21:28:43 UTC

shit those heat sinks would run you like $2 a pop easy if not more

2017-07-08 21:28:58 UTC

that pot's $2 in quantities of 1

2017-07-08 21:30:37 UTC

also i'm not sure how assembled it comes, do be aware the tpa6120 is a small surfacemount part

2017-07-08 21:30:46 UTC

so get your drag soldering tip ready

2017-07-08 21:31:35 UTC

and it might even come in the QFN package, and if so get your hot air station / reflow oven ready

2017-07-08 21:31:54 UTC

i do have all that

2017-07-08 21:31:56 UTC

only a true wizard can hand solder qfn packages

2017-07-08 21:32:41 UTC

@Kaytee got hot air station

2017-07-08 21:33:52 UTC

got a solder stencil for 20-pin qfn?

2017-07-08 21:34:10 UTC

thing's 4mmx4mmx0.5mm, not exactly gonna do that with a spool of solder hot air station or no

2017-07-08 21:34:13 UTC

need paste and stencil

2017-07-08 21:34:42 UTC

Would the Behringer UMC22 be a good interface to go with a NW/BM-800? I'm looking into moving away from my gaming headset, but I also don't want to blow the bank, and I hear USB mics can be a pain

2017-07-08 21:34:45 UTC

hopefully they used the 20SOP version

2017-07-08 21:34:50 UTC

i have anything i could ever need where i work

2017-07-08 21:34:54 UTC

that one you can reasonably do with a steady hand and a drag tip
