starting cs major in uni in a month, is t420 thinkpad still the go-to laptop?

2017-08-02 03:46:58 UTC

Depends what you are look for in a laptop but I think it's still a very good option

2017-08-02 03:47:41 UTC

I have a t430 and a 11e chromebook with galliumos installed and most of the time I prefer the 11e, it's slower but lighter and the battery lasts a lot longer

2017-08-02 03:49:38 UTC

Yes if you change the bios and flash a real operating system but it's an 11 inch screen (1366x768) so you might not like it

2017-08-02 03:50:14 UTC

ah kk then i might go for x230 then

2017-08-02 03:51:09 UTC

I think any thinkpad will probably be a good choice but /tpg/ can probably give you better advice than I can

z2 pro is 283

2017-08-02 04:20:33 UTC

33 difference for double storage and 2gb extra ram and slightly bigger screen and better camera now kek

2017-08-02 04:22:31 UTC

I'm waiting for my z2 pro from gearbest

2017-08-02 04:23:27 UTC

It was 264 usd

2017-08-02 04:23:34 UTC

at the time of purchase

2017-08-02 04:24:06 UTC

im thinking of getting that too, but i can't justify changing a less-than-2-years-old phone while it's still working fine

2017-08-02 04:24:40 UTC

Yes I think better stuff will come around in a year anyway

2017-08-02 04:24:51 UTC

But the rate of improvement has slowed down in recent years

2017-08-02 04:39:48 UTC

tbh anything above a 625 is overkill

2017-08-02 04:39:57 UTC

iirc you can even do basic VR on it

2017-08-02 04:40:03 UTC

Anyone found any rad chink Portable monitors for video cameras? 🤔

2017-08-02 04:41:11 UTC

There's a reason Snapdragon is calling themselves a "Mobile Platform", I think it's because calling it a processor makes people think of just performance which is kinda stagnant

2017-08-02 04:41:43 UTC

but a "Mobile Platform" has stuff like improving DAC'S, color correction, wireless, all kinda shit to measurably improve

2017-08-02 04:41:49 UTC

in any case, I ordered a phone about 2 weeks ago, a Coolpad Cool 1

2017-08-02 04:42:04 UTC

652 should be k for a few years

2017-08-02 05:08:52 UTC

Sellers ride on me to give a positive review, even when they fuck with my order and I get my money back

2017-08-02 08:03:31 UTC

2017-08-02 08:24:28 UTC

^

2017-08-02 08:24:45 UTC

Also check the authenticity code on the box when you get it

2017-08-02 08:24:57 UTC

If there isn't one, then it's obviously fake

2017-08-02 08:25:12 UTC

the site will also tell you how many times it has been checked

2017-08-02 08:46:40 UTC

2017-08-02 09:35:09 UTC

Just realised I got memed by the Redmi note 4. I've ordered one without being noticing it doesn't do fast charging

2017-08-02 09:35:56 UTC

you can thank the jews for that

2017-08-02 09:58:23 UTC

Does rn3p have it

2017-08-02 10:02:07 UTC

Charge overnight. It's not an extremely difficult thing to do.

2017-08-02 10:02:12 UTC

You'll manage, friend.

2017-08-02 10:07:26 UTC
