The LED assembly is stuck in some other bit of kit.
On the other hand I guess I could go the other route and make the entire flashlight myself with a 50W LED and the entire housing acting as passive cooler?
50w is a lot. 😄
hello
http://www.instructables.com/id/homemade-100W-LED-flashlight/ this is 80% chink materials
Just looked up CPU numbers. They're old, but I reckon fairly representative still. Some guy said his CPU idled at 25w, give or take, and went up to 145w at full blast.
And at that point they require some pretty beefy cooling.
I suppose a big honking heat sink like that would do the trick. 😄
Could a 20w one be passively cooled with a hugenormous aluminium heatsink?
I couldn't say.
Guess I'll look into it before spending $2 on an LED module I won't be able to use
>Lol how are you guys measuring this? An i7 at 4.0Ghz is going to be around 200w under a full load.
That's... fuck. 200w?
I did see some YT thing where some dude (possibly two?) built this massive water cooled... miniature sun.
Oh, right. Those work lights.
I guess you could do the passively cooled dealie with ease then, @s3bbe.
That said, those Chinese work lights, according to Saint Clive, aren't anywhere near their stated power rating.
they're probably 40-50W actually
and 150W in conventional light
