@Cole iktf

2017-09-18 11:17:17 UTC

China is not fault

2017-09-18 11:17:33 UTC

For some reason DHL is refusing

2017-09-18 11:18:10 UTC

Sweden Post still seems to ship batteries. Even by air.

2017-09-18 11:18:23 UTC

Just to bring up my loved and unobtainable m365 again, if I want to let it ship to Switzerland it can't be shipped (DHL only option, unshippable) but if I select Germany, DHL says shippable for 73 $

2017-09-18 11:18:49 UTC

Fun fact: DHL planes from Hong Kong land in Germany and proceeds to Switzerland by truck

2017-09-18 11:18:56 UTC

So I don't really understand this

2017-09-18 11:19:08 UTC

@Jignx now image my horror when I ordered a BLF Q8 flashlight (for 46 dollars, luckily) and realized Banggood won't ship button top 18650's to me

2017-09-18 11:19:23 UTC

now I have this bucket of sweat and nothing to use it for

2017-09-18 11:20:01 UTC

@porco have you tried to find a german company that re-ships packages to switzerland?

2017-09-18 11:20:18 UTC

I found one company on the border that just receives packages for you

2017-09-18 11:20:22 UTC

and then I could pick it up

2017-09-18 11:20:42 UTC

but it sucks because if I ship to Germany, I have to pay 19 % VAT + import taxes

2017-09-18 11:20:52 UTC

while based Switzerland has an FTA with China so I would have to pay nothing

2017-09-18 11:21:59 UTC

410 $ for the scooter
19 % VAT from China to Germany
8 % VAT from Germany to Switzerland

2017-09-18 11:22:05 UTC

I bet the jews did this

2017-09-18 11:22:13 UTC

the FTA?

2017-09-18 11:22:39 UTC

pick someone who you deem responsible and hate on them

2017-09-18 11:22:44 UTC

you'll feel better

2017-09-18 11:23:05 UTC

wait

2017-09-18 11:23:14 UTC

you have to pay extra VAT from Germany to Switzerland?

2017-09-18 11:23:26 UTC

yes if the value of what I'm bringing is more than 300 CHF

2017-09-18 11:23:43 UTC

I would think Switzerland would have some agreements with european countries even though it's not in EU

2017-09-18 11:23:56 UTC

yes, up to 300 CHF (260 €)

2017-09-18 11:24:01 UTC

do you know anyone in germany who could send it to you as a """gift"""

2017-09-18 11:24:18 UTC

gifts are not excluded from the VAT; doesn't work

2017-09-18 11:24:30 UTC

my parents live in Germany, we tried that with some stuff from Amazon

2017-09-18 11:24:45 UTC

Because Amazon refuses to ship to Switzerland in general

2017-09-18 11:24:57 UTC

wait, even if the sender adress is personal (as in your parents name and address)?

2017-09-18 11:25:08 UTC

yes

2017-09-18 11:25:29 UTC

huh, I heard this works to avoid taxes from US to Czechia and vice versa

2017-09-18 11:25:37 UTC

doesn't seem to work everywhere, then

2017-09-18 11:25:41 UTC

you're fucked I'm sorry

2017-09-18 11:25:44 UTC

only up to some certain amount

2017-09-18 11:26:04 UTC

claim the scooter is 40 euro? <:alismirk:230784726615588865>

2017-09-18 11:26:06 UTC

you're not going tax free on a 400 $ scooter only because someone says it's a gift

2017-09-18 11:26:29 UTC

I tried that with some hardware from Germany

2017-09-18 11:27:07 UTC

I bought a ThinkPad t470p from the Lenovo Germany shop, shipped it to my parents, then my parents said it was a used thinkpad from ebay for 50$ and sent it to me

2017-09-18 11:27:35 UTC

then I had to pay 137 $ of import tax

2017-09-18 11:27:59 UTC

which is okay because the same thinkpad would have been about 400 $ more in Switzerland

2017-09-18 11:28:22 UTC

But still, TL;DR

- EU sucks
- customs suck
- DHL sucks
