people legit run em off speaker amps
meanwhile something like a HD800 is 300 ohm and can be run off fairly lightweight things
what you really look at is sensitivity
the XE800 is 110db/mw
which is pretty fuckin sensitive
impedance is hardly a factor

@HEKTIK impedance does matter though, on amplifier and headphone end, honestly more important for sound quality than the sensitivity is since damping
but affects volume too, just not neccesarily always in the way people assume
low impedance low sensitivity headphone might not be driven to high enough volume by a high output impedance amp etc, although that's kind of a really uncommon case
also, ohm's law applies, higher impedance headphones need higher voltage to reach the same power
's why portable sources struggle with them even when they can drive a 16 ohm iem to extreme ear damaging loud
