Sorry to hear that @Big Meme

2017-10-07 00:20:10 UTC

I'm hoping to get into lost pla casting

2017-10-07 00:20:57 UTC

Pla is decent. Also doesn't fuck you up as bad as abs does

2017-10-07 00:30:34 UTC

I refuse to support the corn industry

2017-10-07 01:09:21 UTC

lol

2017-10-07 01:09:32 UTC

Yeah abs fumes are bad right? @Big Meme

2017-10-07 01:10:28 UTC

Good ventilation is key regardless

2017-10-07 01:11:18 UTC

you don't want to be sitting in a room with something that's spitting out burnt plastic fumes for several hours at a time

2017-10-07 01:18:19 UTC

Imagine you can just glue a cheap clear plastic enclosure and hook up a dryer pipe to the top with a hard drive fan.

2017-10-07 01:19:18 UTC

@Deleted User abs fumes are super bad. Both for you and the environment. Pla is bad too but not as bad and easier on the environment. Abs is better material and sturdier just will give you lung cancer

2017-10-07 01:19:49 UTC

@johnfrum#8811 you would just fan it back into the room

2017-10-07 01:19:51 UTC

Ah I see

2017-10-07 01:20:01 UTC

Through a window.

2017-10-07 01:20:39 UTC

Also ABS off gassing is new car smell, no idea why people play up the hazards so much.

2017-10-07 01:21:00 UTC

Wait

2017-10-07 01:21:14 UTC

Could I make ABS filament recycling car interior parts?

2017-10-07 01:21:58 UTC

Maybe? Heating process to remelt it will probably break it down pretty badly.

2017-10-07 01:22:49 UTC

Also good luck getting consistent filament diameter.

2017-10-07 01:27:40 UTC

ever heard of crushers? 😃

2017-10-07 01:27:43 UTC

Actually a heater strip hooked up to PID set at the plastic stage of ABS wrapped around insulated seamless tubing might work if you have an additional source of hydraulic pressure.

2017-10-07 01:28:51 UTC

It would be just like a die casting press except I would put an array of fans in front of the extruder

2017-10-07 01:30:40 UTC

If you keep it at plastic stage it'll probably come out mostly solid, set up a simple motor to automatically wind it up and you'll get low quality ABS for probably the same cost as shipping it from China.

2017-10-07 01:33:31 UTC

Also you'll probably have to manually separate stuff like glass, nylon, wire, acrylic, ect

2017-10-07 03:44:06 UTC

how are we supposed to know? link the keyboard

2017-10-07 03:47:08 UTC

oh its a royal kludge

2017-10-07 03:47:20 UTC

doesnt say in the listing so it could be anything

2017-10-07 03:47:27 UTC

message the seller

2017-10-07 03:47:31 UTC

though dont hope for much

2017-10-07 03:48:18 UTC

Ah thanks

2017-10-07 04:57:59 UTC

What should I test my credit card on

2017-10-07 05:10:10 UTC

@johnfrum wanhao di3 , do it

2017-10-07 05:10:31 UTC

A8 is okay but needs a bit of work to match the di3

2017-10-07 05:42:18 UTC

@Kaytee im thinking about buying a malyan m200

2017-10-07 05:43:24 UTC

Its the cheapest of the copys of eachother, that I can get.

2017-10-07 07:31:28 UTC

Be careful with cheap, the power supply will be a fire hazard once you go below like 250usd

2017-10-07 07:38:37 UTC

thats why you get a MOSFET chip

2017-10-07 07:46:05 UTC

Won't help if the power supply itself can't handle the current
