depends really, they don't phone home as much

but yeah their battery life is usually bad

the pebble lasts a week

but that's due to e-ink, also it doesn't need to be connected to a phone now

I just use it as a nice looking dumbwatch

with that android version for smartwatches rising, it is safe to assume that third-party / independent / closed operating systems for watches will fail
