might not even keep the wanhao frame, i've seen a few people replace it with 3030 extrusion with good results

2018-03-04 00:46:43 UTC

seen one that's like a beefier taz 6, might try that

2018-03-04 00:47:10 UTC

Going to weld it?

2018-03-04 00:48:03 UTC

nah, i wanna be able to take it apart, just gonna go for big bolts

2018-03-04 00:48:20 UTC

or maybe just Many normal m4 bolts

2018-03-04 00:48:43 UTC

so i can just use the extrusion normally instead of drilling holes in it

2018-03-04 00:48:47 UTC

Ah, forgot this is a 3D printer

2018-03-04 00:49:54 UTC

Not like extrusion is expensive, I'd drill it

2018-03-04 00:50:25 UTC

also, this carriage plate makes it pretty easy to swap toolheads around... might make a laser head for it too

2018-03-04 00:53:49 UTC

looks like it'd be pretty easy to stick one of those 15W laser modules on it, still not enough to call it a proper laser cutter but it'll cut more than those dinky 500mW toys will

2018-03-04 00:54:53 UTC

Feel laser devolopment has been held back due to reactionary regulation of them.

2018-03-04 00:56:16 UTC

Are parts regulated or is it something you cant assemble yourself?

2018-03-04 00:56:18 UTC

i mean i could get a 60W laser easily enough, way more if i wanna dump money into it it's just a matter of size and weight to put on a 3d printer

2018-03-04 00:56:21 UTC

vs a whole separate machine

2018-03-04 00:57:08 UTC

also as for getting a laser module it's just a matter of simplicity

2018-03-04 00:58:32 UTC

has the diode, heatsink, mounting holes, driver board, all that stuff already built in to one handy brick

2018-03-04 01:01:35 UTC

Neat, turns out as long as you dont point it at airplanes you can get pretty much any laser you can afford.

2018-03-04 01:01:37 UTC

Are strong lasers regulated?

2018-03-04 01:01:48 UTC

Nope, I was misinformed

2018-03-04 01:02:20 UTC

I can imagine that pointing a blf GT a plane wouldn't work out great either.

2018-03-04 01:20:41 UTC

any of you tried this product with a penis

2018-03-04 01:22:12 UTC

whyy

2018-03-04 01:22:23 UTC

try it and report back plz

2018-03-04 02:14:23 UTC

I think I've found a new use for my orange pi

2018-03-04 02:14:41 UTC

Connecting to university computers where my ISP doesn't give me a new zealand IP address

2018-03-04 02:14:53 UTC

Sometimes they give an Australian address and I cannot use lab machines

2018-03-04 02:25:34 UTC

Was australia finally range banned?

2018-03-04 02:31:49 UTC

no

2018-03-04 02:31:59 UTC

it's how connecting to my uni via ssh works

2018-03-04 02:32:05 UTC

you NEED a NZ IP address

2018-03-04 02:32:12 UTC

otherwise it'll blockade you

2018-03-04 02:56:57 UTC

Can't you just use a VPN

2018-03-04 03:06:17 UTC

Are there any think pads that aren't heavy

2018-03-04 03:06:28 UTC

I know they are known for being durable but any lighter ones ?

2018-03-04 03:08:18 UTC

but m-muh magnesium frame

2018-03-04 03:08:59 UTC

the x220 are the smaller ones

2018-03-04 03:09:14 UTC

Cheers

2018-03-04 03:09:22 UTC

It's for my mommy and she's weak

2018-03-04 03:10:43 UTC

Unless you lads know any other budget lightweight laptops

2018-03-04 03:11:00 UTC

It seems like it's all Chromebooks these days
