There's a bunch of great ones. If I had to pick just a single light+accessories for under $100, I'd get a BLF Q8 on coupon for $45ish, $25 worth of Samsung 30Q batteries, and a decent cheap charger.

You can have bright and lasts long. If a light is more focused so that it throws farther, that hotspot in the middle will look brighter than the same light just throwing light in every direction, and the electronicals might have good or terrible efficiencies.

2018-05-17 03:07:43 UTC

But Q8 is a good balance of everything, really.

And it has a tripod mount.

Sign up on http://www.m4dm4x.com/, they usually have good coupons. It's just a site for a coupla guys to link you to /csg/ sites with referral links, and they also get enough sales that they request coupons from stores.

That looks a little hard to strap on a bike though, looks short

2018-05-17 03:10:46 UTC

Ideally I'd like something around $20-25 too

2018-05-17 03:11:18 UTC

Got chargers and batteries?

2018-05-17 03:11:44 UTC

Not yet, I'm gonna get those for sure

2018-05-17 03:12:17 UTC

But the light itself being around $25 would be great

2018-05-17 03:13:39 UTC

BLF A6 maybe? I don't have one, but it's a name I hear a lot, people like it. https://www.banggood.com/BLF-A6-XPL-1600LM-7-4modes-EDC-LED-Flashlight-p-991823.html?cur_warehouse=CN

2018-05-17 03:14:03 UTC

BLF Q8 is my most-suited light to the task, so I can't speak from experience.

2018-05-17 03:16:53 UTC

Looks pretty good, thanks.

2018-05-17 03:17:06 UTC

The /r/flashlight subreddit is good at recommendations too.

2018-05-17 03:21:35 UTC

All right, I think I'll just get the A6 though. It doesn't need to be really bright ass at all for my use. We get fog from time to time but then I'll just flip out a second light or maybe eventually I'll get the Q8 or a different stronger light.

2018-05-17 03:23:33 UTC

@bentech MF04 $159.00

2018-05-17 03:23:46 UTC

interestin

2018-05-17 03:24:18 UTC

Should I do it?

2018-05-17 03:24:46 UTC

yes

2018-05-17 03:24:47 UTC

go for it

2018-05-17 03:24:55 UTC

you can prob flip it lol for what yo upaid

2018-05-17 03:25:18 UTC

Chink batteries aren't worth the risk, right? I should just get some locally?

2018-05-17 03:25:32 UTC

eh

2018-05-17 03:25:35 UTC

all my batteries have been chink

2018-05-17 03:25:37 UTC

they've been fine

2018-05-17 03:25:38 UTC

as in

2018-05-17 03:25:39 UTC

sony/samsung/panasonic from china

2018-05-17 03:25:53 UTC

not like trustfire

2018-05-17 03:26:09 UTC

I would say not worth the risk, quality cells are reasonable enough. The best cells are still single digit prices, especially if you're getting ones for that A6, you only need 1.

2018-05-17 03:27:16 UTC

One AA? Damn

2018-05-17 03:27:31 UTC

One 18650. What kind of batteries were you talking about, alkalines?

2018-05-17 03:27:55 UTC

I thought it was the AA form factor, sorry

2018-05-17 03:28:11 UTC

Is there a multi form chink charger I should get?

2018-05-17 03:28:52 UTC

There's a ton of options, but you can get by with only $5 if you want. I forget which LiitoKala charger it is, but they're decent.

2018-05-17 03:29:18 UTC

I'll look into lititokala then, thanks

2018-05-17 03:30:21 UTC

Zanflare has some good ones too, sub $20 I think

2018-05-17 03:31:58 UTC

Oh nice

2018-05-17 03:32:05 UTC

There's all sorts of things you can concern yourself with on chargers, but basically just get something that doesn't blow up batteries, because the worst-case past that is it prematurely wears the cells out, and you gotta buy a second battery next year.

2018-05-17 03:33:46 UTC

@bentech I hadn't even considered flipping it, pulled the trigger.
