Buy 10k Casio f91w's

2018-05-25 03:42:14 UTC

Neat, more mail. They brought one package to the door, I completely forgot to go check the mailbox too. Guess Ali was gonna have me sign for $18 worth of label tape?

2018-05-25 03:46:22 UTC

Why are you getting so much label tape?

2018-05-25 03:46:25 UTC

Reselling?

2018-05-25 03:47:22 UTC

Nah. With how cheap the Chinese stuff is vs the official stuff, I just went nuts and bought all the colors I could find in the size I use.

2018-05-25 03:47:49 UTC

For the cost of 3-4 legit ones(Or so I thought, turns out they've dropped about 25%) I got 18 Chinese ones.

2018-05-25 03:48:14 UTC

I wonder what a chineese inkjet would cost.

2018-05-25 03:48:39 UTC

Why? Get laser.

2018-05-25 03:48:52 UTC

I've got laser.

2018-05-25 03:52:58 UTC

How do they compare to the oem stuff?

2018-05-25 03:55:52 UTC

Pretty good. 3/3 of my OEM ones are good, 2/18 of my Chinese ones have the gloss layer just sliiightly offset, so there's a tiny line of matte on one side, and some loose tape with no adhesive on the other. Another couple arrived super crooked or wrinkled, but tracked back into place after a couple labels, so just waste a few inches off that 8m roll.

2018-05-25 03:56:45 UTC

I didn't get weird ones, only standard stuff. The extra sticky/flexible ones I'd buy OEM, because I'd be using that somewhere I needed it to stay stuck, like on cables or around chemicals and shit.

2018-05-25 03:57:44 UTC

Oh, and the black on gold one, the texture is kinda inconsistent, at least on the first 1' or so, it seems to be better now. The gloss layer was kinda spotty, not applying great, like peeling a sticker off of glass and putting it back on, there's gonna be air bubbles.

2018-05-25 03:58:19 UTC

So 15/18 are great after the first few inches, 1 is a little weird, 2 I'm disappointed in and will message the sellers.

2018-05-25 04:17:14 UTC

Gonna wait a bit to actually post reviews on the store though, wanna see how they hold up to use. Putting them on credit card readers at work.

2018-05-25 05:50:17 UTC

ahh label maker the one thing more addictive than cocaine and sugar

2018-05-25 05:50:27 UTC

once you start its nearly impossible to stop labeling shit

2018-05-25 05:54:19 UTC

I have the opposite problem... I care about production quality to a fault, so I'm constantly putting off making the labels until I figure out how to perfectly format it and put too much info on them, get juuust the right length, gotta be perfectly straight, etc. I have one of those boxes of drawers for misc screws and shit in my garage that I've been meaning to label for a couple years. Know where everything is at this point though.

2018-05-25 05:54:54 UTC

Mostly I just keep putting off doing it because it's so much easier to hook it up to the PC to print, but that involves finding cables, where a free USB port is, and making space on my desk for it.

2018-05-25 05:56:09 UTC

Is there something like an AliExpress for Japanese stuff btw? I keep ending up with awesome office supplies from there. Got me a few varieties of glue tape and a corner radiuser lately. I'd imagine Amazon and JetPens prices can be beat.

2018-05-25 06:28:47 UTC

@bentech ^ you too

2018-05-25 06:29:32 UTC

Nah, no Klarus stuff yet.

2018-05-25 06:29:45 UTC

And I can't find a cyan D4 :(

2018-05-25 06:33:58 UTC

I am eagerly awaiting a second D4Ti though!

2018-05-25 07:29:01 UTC

@timsandtoms hm, did they stop making the colored D4 versions? that would be sad

2018-05-25 07:29:10 UTC

hopefully it's just out of stock

2018-05-25 07:29:36 UTC

I'd message intl outdoor or that American flashlight store that keeps them in stock if I were you

2018-05-25 07:30:07 UTC

mtn electronics

2018-05-25 07:30:24 UTC

Well, Intl-Outdoor is the manufacturer. So HE shouldn't run out. Rumor is they're redoing it to not have the rough coating.

2018-05-25 07:30:52 UTC

>shouldn't

2018-05-25 07:31:09 UTC

tfw waited 3 weeks because intl was out of stock back when I ordered

2018-05-25 07:32:26 UTC

oh nvm just two weeks just checked the email

2018-05-25 07:32:37 UTC

but still, then it took like a month to arrive

2018-05-25 07:33:02 UTC

and then it arrived the same day as my BLF Q8 <:alismirk:230784726615588865>
