computers work off of hardwar and software: c is a mid level language, low level is hardware languages like VHDL and Verillog for fpga stuff and a high level language does OS and some web design/server. C is used a lot in embedded design for smol computers like an arduin or raspi or an (orangepi which u can get from china).

hardware can be broken into software defined hardware like fpgas and micro controllers or electrical circuits. electrical circuits can design amplifiers and signal analysis(music or sensor information)with capacitors and inductors circuits or high frequency stuff(radio/wifi/fm-am/tv) with antennas and clever circuit/trace layouts. a lot of it is moving toward software defined hardware for low level voltages

what i'm told is that once you figure out one language it becomes relatively trivial to figure out another

people dont like C cause you can define a 16 bit variable(which has a limit of 2^16 = 65,535) to 70,000

and in other languages it would cause an error but in C would increment from 65,535 to 0 then count up
