Righto, thanks fellas

2018-07-28 23:55:03 UTC

Probably look into that this evening

2018-07-28 23:55:24 UTC

So couple bucks more from GearBest but I get a warranty, right?

2018-07-28 23:57:28 UTC

Oh, bugger, hope my new card arrives in time for the sale, I THINK it adds more warranty than the other few

2018-07-28 23:57:29 UTC

I guess

2018-07-28 23:57:58 UTC

wdym card?

2018-07-28 23:58:17 UTC

New credit card, signed up last night

2018-07-28 23:58:57 UTC

I don't remember which one's add warranty and which don't.

2018-07-28 23:59:16 UTC

I mean I doubt it will break down that easily

2018-07-28 23:59:42 UTC

nice thing of buying chinkphones aswell is that you can replace it every 2-3 years without it costing too much unlike flagships

2018-07-28 23:59:58 UTC

Yeah, but I'd spend a few bucks on an extended warranty to mean I'm covered for those full 2-3 years

2018-07-29 00:01:24 UTC

So no warranty Ali $180 vs 1 year GearBest $190, worth. 1 year GearBest vs 2-3 if I just check which card to use, worth.

2018-07-29 00:02:02 UTC

don't know how credit cards work tbh

2018-07-29 00:02:12 UTC

US or elsewhere?

2018-07-29 00:02:13 UTC

don't need them in europe really

2018-07-29 00:02:19 UTC

Ah

2018-07-29 00:03:20 UTC

Credit score is a big thing here for any money lending stuff, so it's worth using one regardless, but you're more covered if your card gets stolen/cloned if you're in credit instead of debit here

2018-07-29 00:03:45 UTC

it's a weird system tbh

2018-07-29 00:03:45 UTC

Which is a real possibility, because we're JUST NOW getting on chip and pin

2018-07-29 00:03:51 UTC

Yeah, no arguments there

2018-07-29 00:04:01 UTC

Just now?

2018-07-29 00:04:44 UTC
2018-07-29 00:05:13 UTC

But, card networks charge merchants to accept their cards, so all the networks want you to use their card, so they add bonuses. % back on your statement, points to redeem towards gift cards or flights, extended warranty coverage, price matching for 90 days, etc

2018-07-29 00:05:14 UTC

I know the basics but I don't see a reason to get them here

2018-07-29 00:05:26 UTC

it's just added cost for things I can already just do with debit

2018-07-29 00:05:39 UTC

All about building up reward points and insurance

2018-07-29 00:05:57 UTC

And it's just one of those cases where they couldn't afford to do those things if EVERYONE took advantage, but few do, so if you're in that minority that does, it's SO worth it.

2018-07-29 00:06:02 UTC

Also a credit card saves nerves during vacation

2018-07-29 00:06:28 UTC

I'd just get insured prepaid for that

2018-07-29 00:06:32 UTC

@Kimichiboi No added cost. It costs the merchants, and they aren't allowed to charge more for credit than debit.

2018-07-29 00:06:49 UTC

Just pay within 3 weeks and it costs nothing

2018-07-29 00:06:58 UTC

well here if you want insurance online you have to pay a fee

2018-07-29 00:07:09 UTC

Aliexpress fees cough

2018-07-29 00:07:24 UTC

Discover just gave me $250 for spending what I'd have spend anyways, just for using their card instead.

2018-07-29 00:07:43 UTC

Usable for ali?

2018-07-29 00:08:08 UTC

wish more website had as many payment methods as ali

2018-07-29 00:08:15 UTC

legit has everything besides paypal

2018-07-29 00:08:26 UTC

Just straight up $250 that I can redeem as a statement credit, or gift cards(at $45 per $50 or something like that)

2018-07-29 00:08:29 UTC

Paypal charges money on the merchant side

2018-07-29 00:08:42 UTC

2018-07-29 00:09:14 UTC
