it's easier to carry on public transport and faster

2018-08-12 21:07:30 UTC

oh

2018-08-12 21:07:34 UTC

so a "hoverboard"

2018-08-12 21:07:43 UTC

or the weird little collapsible thing

2018-08-12 21:08:24 UTC

hoverboards are just toys for kids

2018-08-12 21:08:38 UTC

Not a reliable/fast way of transport

2018-08-12 21:12:37 UTC

idk

2018-08-12 21:12:46 UTC

just like eBay be like

2018-08-12 21:12:57 UTC

2018-08-12 22:03:20 UTC

who here Waiting ™ for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3?

2018-08-12 22:51:33 UTC

I have a dumb question but how much of a difference do you feel there is between the 4gb ram or 6gb options for a redmi note 5 according to your daily use?

I have no frame of reference so my stuggle is the price point justification but the problem is that the device is pretty cheap anyway.

2018-08-12 22:52:14 UTC

My brain is telling to stop being an idiot and get the 4gb version, but 40 dollars isn't much.

2018-08-12 22:54:25 UTC

@Deleted User 4gb is more than enough

2018-08-12 22:55:50 UTC

^wrong

2018-08-12 22:56:00 UTC

buy more ram please, this time it was a ~~landslide~~ earthquake

2018-08-12 23:00:14 UTC

You can always download more ram

2018-08-12 23:11:26 UTC

with intel and samsung launching cheap nvme SSDs

2018-08-12 23:11:34 UTC

it must be idiocy to buy chink SSDs

2018-08-13 05:25:40 UTC

Honestly I'm surprised that chink scooters aren't more popular because they fit on transit easier

The xiaomi ebike looks p interesting too

2018-08-13 07:49:21 UTC

Germany has too many hills for these e scooters

2018-08-13 08:20:45 UTC

>germany >has hills

2018-08-13 08:21:16 UTC

well i guess some of the towns that are built directly on to the hillside have hills

2018-08-13 08:21:48 UTC

but my memory is that most of cities there were quite flat

2018-08-13 08:22:55 UTC

at least what i saw during my time there

2018-08-13 08:23:33 UTC

and sidenote: current electric scooters have no problem with small hills or even some steeper ones

2018-08-13 08:24:34 UTC

sure if you throw 100kg fatso with bag and wish to still get that advertised KM out of it you quickly realise that its impossible

2018-08-13 08:25:27 UTC

but yeah 9% or even 14% hills were no problem with better units

2018-08-13 08:25:46 UTC

(what i doubt xiaomi one is)

2018-08-13 08:27:39 UTC

source i have now drove 2 summers with 3 different e-bikes testing them and all passed those hills quite easily (full disclosure: the lowest powered unit strugled with me-full golfbag and those hills but it still managed to push us to the top)

2018-08-13 08:29:13 UTC

The Xiaomi scooter is made in collaboration with segway

2018-08-13 08:30:00 UTC

indeed but that tells fuck all about its performance still

2018-08-13 08:30:48 UTC

350-500w and 7800mAh

2018-08-13 08:30:54 UTC

apparently is xiaomis specs

2018-08-13 08:31:11 UTC

42volt batteries but it wont tell what V the hub motors are

2018-08-13 08:31:59 UTC

also apparently xiaomi can be hacked (has bluetooth and special firmware ":D"

2018-08-13 08:33:04 UTC

but yeah 500w is minimun on the hub motors what you should look at e-scooters

2018-08-13 08:33:30 UTC

its enough to carry you/small bag easily for 15 or so kilometers (on full gas/turbo) (with decent battery package)

2018-08-13 08:34:30 UTC

@Tervy germany has a lot of hills, compared to NL anyways <:alismirk:230784726615588865>

2018-08-13 08:34:44 UTC

1000w is something you will enjoy more and actualy can transit yourself and bag easily that 15km and some more even on bad terrain

2018-08-13 08:35:28 UTC

(also bypassing limiter on those things is darn dangerous to you and others but darn fun when you can go 50km/h on flimsy as fuck aluminium slab)
