wow im kinda amazed how that laptop looks when opened up
it looks decently servicable
I love how many bad ideas there are for thermal paste application
I'm actually lost in all of the bad ones and don't know how to do it properly anymore
i normally spread it
i use a really thick paste though
@Cole the right way is to draw a pentagram with thermal paste and then sacrifice a newborn
What's better between low TDP x86 or ARM?
depends on implementation etc
I always thought ARM was preferrable for low TDP
in reality it doesn't really mastte
Well I mean
you can't run windows on ARM
yes you can
But if windows were to be slow or the laptops were to heat up more easily on x86... it'd make sense to use ARM
idk
windows on arm is pretty slow tbh
mostly as a lot of the appls are emulated
Is there like some guide for when ARM is the better solution?
depends on implementation
it's pretty much as all of the low poered chips are ARM
do you want to run existing applications -> dont use arm
as only intel/amd can make x86 chips
acutally i guess via/zhaoxin
but eh
and they're all focused on servers atm
isnt kryonaut conductive though
```
no electrical conductivity!!!```
🤔
maybe im thinking of liquid metal (tm)
again biggest issue is implementation
reason arm is better for low powered is most of the implementations so far have been for low powered applications
while x86 implementations are largely focused on servers/sometimes laptops
you have seen some very low powered x86 stuff though
e.g the asus x86 zen phone
So x86 is generally better though less developed in low power applications than ARM, do I get that right? @bentech
