but why

2018-09-08 15:14:40 UTC

alternatively if you modify your bios

2018-09-08 15:19:30 UTC

@bentech goddamn that video

2018-09-08 15:19:34 UTC

>calls capacitors resistors

2018-09-08 15:19:41 UTC

>spreads thermal paste with a plastic bag

2018-09-08 15:19:41 UTC

hahaha

2018-09-08 15:22:47 UTC

wow im kinda amazed how that laptop looks when opened up

2018-09-08 15:22:58 UTC

it looks decently servicable

2018-09-08 15:24:57 UTC

I love how many bad ideas there are for thermal paste application

2018-09-08 15:25:09 UTC

I'm actually lost in all of the bad ones and don't know how to do it properly anymore

2018-09-08 15:25:24 UTC

i normally spread it

2018-09-08 15:25:37 UTC

i use a really thick paste though

2018-09-08 15:25:37 UTC

@Cole the right way is to draw a pentagram with thermal paste and then sacrifice a newborn

2018-09-08 15:25:40 UTC

What's better between low TDP x86 or ARM?

2018-09-08 15:25:48 UTC

depends on implementation etc

2018-09-08 15:25:49 UTC

I always thought ARM was preferrable for low TDP

2018-09-08 15:25:51 UTC

in reality it doesn't really mastte

2018-09-08 15:25:58 UTC

Well I mean

2018-09-08 15:26:04 UTC

you can't run windows on ARM

2018-09-08 15:26:17 UTC

yes you can

2018-09-08 15:26:34 UTC

But if windows were to be slow or the laptops were to heat up more easily on x86... it'd make sense to use ARM

2018-09-08 15:26:34 UTC

idk

2018-09-08 15:27:30 UTC

windows on arm is pretty slow tbh

2018-09-08 15:27:34 UTC

mostly as a lot of the appls are emulated

2018-09-08 15:27:34 UTC

it is, but you can do it

2018-09-08 15:27:36 UTC

Is there like some guide for when ARM is the better solution?

2018-09-08 15:27:44 UTC

depends on implementation

2018-09-08 15:27:50 UTC

it's pretty much as all of the low poered chips are ARM

2018-09-08 15:27:50 UTC

do you want to run existing applications -> dont use arm

2018-09-08 15:27:59 UTC

as only intel/amd can make x86 chips

2018-09-08 15:28:05 UTC

acutally i guess via/zhaoxin

2018-09-08 15:28:08 UTC

but eh

2018-09-08 15:28:21 UTC

and they're all focused on servers atm

2018-09-08 15:29:54 UTC

isnt kryonaut conductive though

2018-09-08 15:30:14 UTC

```
no electrical conductivity!!!```
2018-09-08 15:30:16 UTC
🤔
2018-09-08 15:30:23 UTC
maybe im thinking of liquid metal (tm)
2018-09-08 15:30:32 UTC
@bentech I thought so yeah but now we have 6w intel Am I correct in the assumption that ARM is better for low powered chips then? @Goz3rr Yeah but it cannot possibly be that simple or intel and arm tablets wouldn't be competing at the same price level
2018-09-08 15:30:52 UTC
again biggest issue is implementation
