because it was never used in the first place
because nearly everything is x86
lol
everytihng pc side is x86
most server stuff is x86
ok some routing stuff maybe with ARM
ARM programs don't run on x86 natively
having to emulate x86 in ARM is slow
which means it uses more power
pretty much
the only thing that limited sucess in pcs w as powerpc
because it's what macs/some workstations in the 90s used
though that's all x86 now
if your wondering how slow it is
gets stomped by anything natively x86
even in real world stuff
also only 32 bit
not 64
Now post arm emulation on x86
So ARM is slower but has lower power consumption... right? @bentech
Also wait didn't ARM exist way, way before x86?
ok don't think of it as purely arm vs x86
it all depends chip to chip
just no one has ever done a high power arm core
Yeah but
x86 was developed when ARM already existed
and from what you said it sounds like x86 is harder to make
no
why isthat?
x86 outdates arm
are you sure?
first x86 cpu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_8086
1978
of course instruictons for that wouldnt work today on modern cpus but you get the point
they would
that's most people's gripe with x86
it completely bloated
with all the old instructions
