i looked around and only geekbuying have europe warehouse stock.

2018-09-27 13:45:30 UTC

holy f the prices are larger by far though

2018-09-27 13:45:35 UTC

220 on GB

2018-09-27 13:46:45 UTC

i mean, yes i could pay £130 from aliexpress, but i will probably get a customs fee. so £172 from poland is not too bad. and no 3-4 week wait.

2018-09-27 13:48:08 UTC

13 euros for that wiha set in the end 👌

2018-09-27 13:48:40 UTC

i was looking at the x55 too but can't justify the extra cost.

2018-09-27 13:48:48 UTC

I bought two sets right now for US$31.18

2018-09-27 13:51:14 UTC

about that board though

2018-09-27 13:51:16 UTC

@kontroll thanks for that banggood tip

2018-09-27 13:51:31 UTC

does it have switchable RAM or soldered onboard

2018-09-27 13:51:35 UTC

I guess soldered for these

2018-09-27 13:51:37 UTC

No probs, honey bun.

2018-09-27 13:51:46 UTC

banggood was always the cheapest for wiha, I got them there last time too some months ago

2018-09-27 13:51:57 UTC

I checked against ali and it was more

2018-09-27 13:52:20 UTC

they probably ordered millions of them

2018-09-27 13:53:01 UTC

Also, kekkity. My phone honked like a goose when Julian highlighted me. Kids on the train went wtf big-time.

2018-09-27 13:54:30 UTC

I also just now installed Discord shit which runs in background to save power and was so surprised when somebody here highlighted me and it blew up

2018-09-27 13:54:36 UTC

it seems these power saving things has come quite far

2018-09-27 13:56:23 UTC

btw @Absolute Kubica The PSU is also interesting

2018-09-27 13:56:29 UTC

is it blow up chink tier or quality power supply included

2018-09-27 13:57:28 UTC

i have no idea. i will let you know when it arrives. i don't recall seeing it in the youtube review.

2018-09-27 13:58:11 UTC

ah, the SSD brand? Its a better deal than the current mine for 166 USD because of the case inclusive,2GB more RAM and 128GB SSD

2018-09-27 13:58:15 UTC

But the SSD may be shit

2018-09-27 13:58:34 UTC

that said I didnt consider this thing at that point, or rather didnt know it existed

2018-09-27 13:58:39 UTC

@Julian i got one of these

2018-09-27 13:58:45 UTC

highest quality screwdrivers i've owned

2018-09-27 13:59:42 UTC

i assume it's a chink brand ssd.

2018-09-27 13:59:49 UTC

>finds the gemini x55 after you mentioned it

2018-09-27 13:59:53 UTC

Huh, it has basically no difference

2018-09-27 14:00:13 UTC

faster RAM frequnecy and a bit better CPU

2018-09-27 14:00:40 UTC

yes, 8gb ram vs 6gb but it's fine.

2018-09-27 14:01:40 UTC

tbh i'm only using it for streaming. my current lenovo pc stick cannot handle 1080p acestream streams.

2018-09-27 14:01:45 UTC

I checked their own bench of the SSD

2018-09-27 14:02:09 UTC

access time to write is pretty bad, and it has lower performance than the cheap 120GB one I bought. But it seems decent, the slow time may be because of the device.

2018-09-27 14:02:45 UTC

I have seen worse SSDs sold today, the Kingston and similar cheap ones using old 2D TLC and chink controller.

2018-09-27 14:03:10 UTC

that said it may have other flaws that causes it to be funny

2018-09-27 14:03:14 UTC

or fake bench

2018-09-27 14:03:24 UTC

eh, i'm coming from a pc which uses emmc so it will be fine for me. i might be able to swap it out but am in no rush.

2018-09-27 14:06:15 UTC

I see, well the chink stuff I get will have eMMC too.

2018-09-27 14:06:35 UTC

planning on using the ORICO HDD/SSD encolsure to have an external SSD on it. Since I dont want to buy M.2 stuff

2018-09-27 14:09:24 UTC

yeah, the drive bay for the x45 (separate from the 128gb msata slot) is 2.5" so i will use it at some point. maybe with ubuntu on it.
