2018-11-23 19:54:20 UTC

i think?

2018-11-23 19:54:28 UTC

kingspec is sub-par @Nikki Ann Marie

2018-11-23 19:54:56 UTC

I know. It was mainly for giggles TBH.

2018-11-23 19:55:19 UTC

good ssds are getting really cheap now, there is perhaps less reason now than ever to ever buy a chink ssd

2018-11-23 19:56:55 UTC

you can get a reliable western brand like kingston or sandisk for the same price, if not cheaper, than a chink SSD

2018-11-23 20:00:53 UTC

we'll probably see 100$/1tb by the end of the year

2018-11-23 20:01:03 UTC

there was already an ADATA ssd that sold for that

2018-11-23 20:10:06 UTC

its not even that bad currently

2018-11-23 20:10:36 UTC

if only the 500gb ones were 50 euros too :P

2018-11-23 20:13:40 UTC

Whoops.

2018-11-23 20:13:48 UTC

I accidentally deleted it

2018-11-23 20:14:02 UTC

the 500gb silicon power one on amazon seems like a good bet

2018-11-23 20:14:09 UTC

Also if anyone's looking the m.2 version of the 1TB 860 evo, it's also around $130

2018-11-23 20:14:24 UTC

relatively unknown brand but they have a 3 year warranty for it free

2018-11-23 20:14:51 UTC

what if you lose your data

2018-11-23 20:14:56 UTC

will they recover it?

2018-11-23 20:15:06 UTC

back up your shit loser

2018-11-23 20:15:07 UTC

(assuming it's a normal guy who doesn't have backups)

2018-11-23 20:15:22 UTC

why would you put anything important on your SSD

2018-11-23 20:15:40 UTC

use it for the operating system and programs

2018-11-23 20:15:57 UTC

and just back up your AppData folder or something

2018-11-23 20:16:05 UTC

>why would you put anything important on your non-volatile solid state drive that has far longer MTBF vs spinning rust disks

2018-11-23 20:16:13 UTC

<:thinkturt:498925089224654859>

2018-11-23 20:16:28 UTC

Has anyone here switched over to only using SSDs?

2018-11-23 20:16:30 UTC

multi layer SSDs are not that reliable kiddo

2018-11-23 20:16:43 UTC

and anything above 120gb is guaranteed not single layer

2018-11-23 20:17:25 UTC

my important shit is on a 120GB single layer SSD

2018-11-23 20:17:37 UTC

what now

2018-11-23 20:18:17 UTC

@adamcdx it doesn't seem that practical

<:iosthink:328535776843268105>

2018-11-23 20:19:08 UTC
