Anti-trust tbh.
anti trust?
@Bloodmasked Wouldn't that prevent servers like this one from removing people from them.
like do you think facebook/twitter/youtube is a monopoly
Smaca that is.
Yes.
I think they are a monopoly.
smaca applies to whatever they determine as 'public forums' its somewhere like in the range of hundreds of millions of users
smaca is a shit idea because yes it doesnt work for discord, more so subreddits
So there is some arbitrary number that is set at which something becomes a public forum?
yes and id say that you have to draw lines like that because the whole idea of 'antitrust' is arbitrary
Yea I'm not opposed to some degree of arbitrariness.
how do u justify the platforms as monopolies, gab has already been created and still exists after having all its backend/providers pulled
I didn't put forth the notion that it is somewhat arbitrary as critique, though I can see how it comes off that way via text.
monopolies dont exist outside of government regulation such as by favors
for example, if you demand a particular good but there is only 1 person who produces it that doesnt mean its bad
@Bloodmasked People who've fled to gab etc are those who aren't welcome on the larger platforms, those who are on the larger platforms are there because they don't have to leave / don't want to have decreased view / subscriber growth.
why does youtube owe it to its creators to provide maximum growth
is a company not allowed to have opinions on who enters their business?
It doesn't owe it to them I'm talking about the incentive for creators to stay on that platform.
Also wouldn't your legislation make it so I couldn't create some to a specific need / desire ie this is a wallpaper subreddit. Haven't you removed the ability for me to remove non wallpaper posts past a certain point?
i dont agree with smaca at all
its not even good if i were to support the concept behind it
You use gab as an example but competitors like gab and bitchute are being censored and deplatformed for not subscribing to the silicon valley ideology
why would you want to put the state in charge of deciding who can think
Me?
silicon valley is mainstream because thats the culture
Oh.
Just seems like anti-trust is the best way to go tbh.
I dont want to put the state in charge but somwthing definitely needs to be done
create your own silicon valley
Considering credit card companies are now getting involved its only a matter of time before banks start refusing to deal with certain ppl or businesses
they only reflect the culture of their consumers
People who are against anti trust on this remind me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME3J1pl4cew
antitrust just means u dont believe in capitalism
Obviously not seeing as theyre censoring their customers
ie socialist thinking
@Bloodmasked I don't care about the semantics of what is and what's not capitalism. This is what I want.
i censor who i speak to is that wrong?
whats difference between myself and my company
