If you arent conscious during the switch, did you really survive? Or are you now a copy?

2019-02-26 13:36:36 UTC

Id argue the only way to do it would be to move the consiousness over slowly, moving the sight over first, then the hearing, all while the main consciousness still remains anchored to the physical form, then move the person over segnent by segment

2019-02-26 13:36:50 UTC

Even then though itd be hard to gauge whether it worked

2019-02-26 13:37:40 UTC

If you could guarantee that the organic instance of the consciousness was transferred over, and not copied, then id still call that android human

2019-02-26 13:39:27 UTC

I realise i rambled there

nah i was just waking up and shit

2019-02-26 13:55:22 UTC

the slowly moving of the consciousness is a intersting point

2019-02-26 13:55:29 UTC

hadnt thought about that

2019-02-26 14:04:23 UTC

Its the only solution i can come up with to the issue atm

2019-02-26 14:05:20 UTC

But at the same time whose to say your instance of consciousness doesnt end everytime you fall asleep

2019-02-26 14:05:47 UTC

Before a new instance is booted up in the morning

Thomas Jefferson wrote a brilliant letter about rights after death from a liberal/libertarian mindset.

2019-02-26 15:18:05 UTC

Basically since the dead cannot asser their rights any further, and require others to exercise them, the rights do not belong to them but to others to exercise for them.

2019-02-26 15:19:54 UTC

Also @jorick2u idk if you can use this anymore for the quotes but this one always hit me as 'why do the liberalists exist':

"What is true of every member of the society individually, is true of them all collectively, since the rights of the whole can be no more than the sum of the rights of individuals."

2019-02-26 15:23:43 UTC

Yes, the Scottish lad was about to quote a fairly obscure letter from Jefferson to Madison about inheritance rights. <:Sarthink:451290128665804801>
