😩 is this gonna turn into a philosophical debate

2019-02-26 13:25:42 UTC

It might

2019-02-26 13:25:50 UTC

Its like reverse abortion

2019-02-26 13:26:08 UTC

When does a human stop being a human and become a lump of cells?

2019-02-26 13:26:28 UTC

Is a decaying corpse human?

2019-02-26 13:26:48 UTC

Is an ash pile human?

2019-02-26 13:27:24 UTC

What about those tree coffins where they plants a sapling that uses your body as nutrients

2019-02-26 13:29:16 UTC

I would even go as far as to say that your body isnt you, it's your property for sure. But the same way as a tool would be a part of you

2019-02-26 13:29:36 UTC

It's a tool for your consciousness to use to do things

2019-02-26 13:29:50 UTC

Id say a human is the combination of the consiousness and body

2019-02-26 13:30:03 UTC

Body doesnt need to be organic mind you

2019-02-26 13:30:29 UTC

A consciousness and a ability to impact the world you also could say

2019-02-26 13:30:34 UTC

Yes

2019-02-26 13:30:55 UTC

A consciousness uploaded to a computer wouldnt be human

2019-02-26 13:31:12 UTC

But a consciousness uploaded to a humanoid android body could be

2019-02-26 13:31:26 UTC

But an empty android wouldnt be

2019-02-26 13:31:35 UTC

Does android mean any biological parts?

2019-02-26 13:31:40 UTC

No

2019-02-26 13:31:47 UTC

Cyborgs is biological

2019-02-26 13:32:02 UTC

Okay so what's the difference between the computer and the android

2019-02-26 13:32:25 UTC

The computer is virtual only

2019-02-26 13:32:30 UTC

You have tools to impact the world

2019-02-26 13:32:39 UTC

At least if you can interact

2019-02-26 13:32:40 UTC

No way to tangibly move and interact

2019-02-26 13:33:07 UTC

The consiousness needs to be anchored to a moving physical form

2019-02-26 13:33:25 UTC

If it can inhabit multiple bodies at once then its not human

2019-02-26 13:33:50 UTC

Well for me it can't because it wouldnt be the same person anymore at that point

2019-02-26 13:33:52 UTC

If there exists more than one instance of the consiousness it becomes a clone, not a human

2019-02-26 13:34:00 UTC

Yes exactly

2019-02-26 13:34:28 UTC

But that is the same for androids

2019-02-26 13:34:56 UTC

One apprehension i would have about being put in an android body would be the disconnect of consiouseness

2019-02-26 13:35:24 UTC

If you arent conscious during the switch, did you really survive? Or are you now a copy?

2019-02-26 13:36:36 UTC

Id argue the only way to do it would be to move the consiousness over slowly, moving the sight over first, then the hearing, all while the main consciousness still remains anchored to the physical form, then move the person over segnent by segment

2019-02-26 13:36:50 UTC

Even then though itd be hard to gauge whether it worked

2019-02-26 13:37:40 UTC

If you could guarantee that the organic instance of the consciousness was transferred over, and not copied, then id still call that android human

2019-02-26 13:39:27 UTC

I realise i rambled there

2019-02-26 13:39:34 UTC

Gomenasorry

2019-02-26 13:40:43 UTC

I have killed the convo, much like the government will kill me for my organs

2019-02-26 13:44:31 UTC

2019-02-26 13:54:51 UTC

nah i was just waking up and shit

2019-02-26 13:55:22 UTC

the slowly moving of the consciousness is a intersting point
