anarchist societies in action ^
Its not the tech obsession I can tell you that much
Its probably social media
Personally I blame MTV
People not raising their own kids, corporate and government backed nutritional pseudoscience, shitty value ideas, and tech obsession amplifying all the above
^
tech "obsessions" are nothing more than growing pains
we're online now. thats not going to change anytime soon
dissidents in ancient greece proclaimed reading too many books will rot your brain
all this to say tech is going to stay and is going to be integrated into our lives, up to and including transhumanism
the issue isnt whether this is good or not, because it is. the question is who owns and controls that tech. Independent, principled organizations working to ensure that the tech is working for the betterment of us and humanity? or companies looking to eek profits out of us in any way they can, up to and including, behavioral modificiation, ads and data gathering
a democratic means would ensure destruction in the aspect of who owned the tech
meaning?

Following the 11 September 2001 attacks the United States, in particular the CIA, has been accused of rendering hundreds of people suspected by the government of being terrorists—or of aiding and abetting terrorist organizations—to third-party states such as Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Uzbekistan. Such "ghost detainees" are kept outside judicial oversight, often without ever entering US territory, and may or may not ultimately be transferred to the custody of the United States.[34] According to the former CIA case officer Bob Baer, "If you want a serious interrogation, you send a prisoner to Jordan. If you want them to be tortured, you send them to Syria. If you want someone to disappear—never to see them again—you send them to Egypt."[47]
