Well, yeah, a partner can't and shouldn't be a substitute for an actual therapist
Bu it doesn't mean they shouldn't help at all
Yeah. So many people nowadays get overwhelmed over the silliest shit in a relationship, emotionally. Like oh they can't handle hearing about their partners childhood trauma. Like the girl on Reddit who broke up with her bf because she found out he'd been raped.
That's depressing
What a cunt
Also a bit different though
Real doomer hours in here.
Like, you'd probably view the story differently if it was a pattern of him constantly feeling dejected and carrying around residual trauma and asking her to validate him
I never took issue with my ex's mental illness, I've sorta made my peace with the concept that I'm very likely consigned to a fate of being with somebody mentally unwell.
Since it's 2019 and everybody's crazy now.
Because that becomes cyclical, and then a burden, which is a bit more legitimate than just having been told about a specific trauma
everyone constantly carries around residual trauma
Apparently they'd been together a while and he opened up to her about it
its nothing new
You gotta get on that "be there for them, but don't treat them like a baby" thing.
It's one of those AITA posts I think
I've only broken up with one other person because he used his trauma to hurt others. Like threatening suicide when I tried to leave him.
Right, so she found out he'd been raped, couldn't handle it, broke up with him
She said it emasculates him to her
My friend had an ex like Pam.
It became a weekly thing, she'd get hammered and then scream at him to come home or she'd kill herself.
Sounds like Necros ex
That's different from someone who can handle the trauma but doesn't want to deal with constantly validating someone who is not actually changing
She fuckin drove 20 minutes, drunk as fuck, out to where I live just to fuckin scream at him when we were hanging out once.
Damn sounds too much like Necros ex
Yeah she had the BPD bad.
BPD is one hell of a drug
My friend dates a lot of crazy girls come to think of it. <:woke:403676040343584770>
Wiz you go too easy on these demons
He's probably a bit nutty himself
Glad I only fell for a depressed sadgorl Austrian and not a BPD thot.
he's probably emotionally vulnerable
Well, I think it's mutually parasitic I guess
Nah, actually my friend's as normie as they come. The worst he's got is divorce and the occasional Irish-style beating.
I kinda threw myself on the grenade because I was a dumb 18 year old who thought a cute punk guy was what I wanted. Little did I know...
I've known him since the 3rd grade.
Met lots of girls who feel their worth in the relationship is directly tied to how comforting they are
you can be a normie and emotionally vulnerable
Tato your friend sounds like a too nice guy
Bpd thots love that shit
