well i cant find it and im too tired to keep looking but basically he explained that putting too much detail into the art when trying to tell a story can detract from your goal. It's true, manga and anime tends to be less detailed than its western counterparts because as he put it, you're on a tight schedule and anything that's too terribly detailed is going to not serve its purpose as a symbol to get across a message efficiently.

The appeal to fascism I think is the ties it holds to environmentalism. Most of the fascists I know think of themselves as eco-fascists but imo that's a dumb label since fascism is already pro-environment.

There's no real right or wrong with fascist warfare doctrines. Fighting to continue the existence of your people in the face of economic woes is fully justified. So is defending yourself from invaders of any kind.

Fascism doesn't reject individualism as hard as communism does imo. Fascists recognize that individual accomplishments are part of what lead to a fulfilling life. Part of those accomplishments are duties fulfilled to the state, such as military service.

In addition to this, due to class collaboration being the economic solution in a fascist society, a high amount of social mobility would be required, the opportunity to move up or down the class ladder is hugely important to maintaining class collaboration. You can be as successful or as impoverished as you choose to be if the state has your back in your efforts to improve yourself.
