They also thought that Quebecers were gonna be the same way and just join them.
It also might be one of the only examples of actual Canadian nationalism.
As a response to essentially being invaded by the IRA.
>Canadian nationalism

Canada is too cute for real nationalism tbh
Yeah when a meme invasion is a source of nationalism you know that ship ain't sailing far.
Like, Canadians are kind of like Czechs to me
No one can treat you seriously
We used to have the 5th largest navy in the world during WWII.
We even had a carrier or two.

Ok bud
WE
HELPED
😎
You reminded me about stories from WWII
When Germany and Slovakia invaded Poland
*ACKSHUALLY* we were so good at WWII, that we were the first to take our beach on D-Day so we helped the Americans take theirs.
Since they were having some trouble all by themselves.
And everytime Polish soldiers got some captives they asked them if they were Germans or Slovakians
And then they usually were killing off the Germans and letting free the Slovakians
And then after that we kinda just clean up. We liberate Holland the Netherlands, some places in France and Italy and that's about it.

I guess same would happen to Canadians during fights with Germans
You guys give off a real Czecho-Slovak vibe
Well it would've been harder to tell.
Since we speak English also.
Yeah, I guess
But you speak it with your own accent
In WWI ze Germans used to be scared of Canadians since we were the fresh-er shock troops.
And you could show some documents or sth
Different uniforms too.
Yeah
Would've been the big indicator.
WWI as the big war for anglos though.
In school we're taught that Britain was the bad guy for essentially dragging us kicking and screaming into it.
Seriously though, when I first learned about the Slovakian thing during the WWII I laughed so hard
And then being incompetent as fuck because colonials were a lower class that got sent to do all of the shit jobs.
Because that sounded so realistic
Like Passchendale, Galipoli, and Vimy Ridge.
>Galipoli
Lmao, didn't know that Canadians participated in that bullshit
