not gonna do a ton

2019-09-25 04:49:16 UTC

Yeah you’re not going to go dead from a defensive shooting

2019-09-25 04:49:22 UTC

oh ok. Still, would be interesting.

2019-09-25 04:49:31 UTC

yeah its interesting to think about sure

2019-09-25 04:49:38 UTC

there are those meme maximco guns

2019-09-25 04:50:17 UTC

but i think the volume requirements for a can to properly function would make it pretty impractical

2019-09-25 04:50:32 UTC

https://silencerco.com/media/contentmanager/content/maxim9-gallery-desktop-5_2.jpg like, maybe this, but with chambers that continued back into the grip by going above and below the trigger guard. Vent the gasses out the bottom.

2019-09-25 04:50:43 UTC

And make it 45, if that's easier.

2019-09-25 04:50:50 UTC

the challenge is it cant all go backwards

2019-09-25 04:50:59 UTC

And have fun carrying a brick

2019-09-25 04:51:04 UTC

you need a decent area infront of the muzzle

2019-09-25 04:51:05 UTC

also that

2019-09-25 04:51:40 UTC

like people are big on the g43x as the hot new carry glock

2019-09-25 04:51:49 UTC

imagine what that would need as far as a can

2019-09-25 04:52:05 UTC

like just the increase in footprint for a cc gun is pretty impractical

2019-09-25 04:52:06 UTC

I don’t think it’s super feasible for a carry gun

2019-09-25 04:52:32 UTC

yeah until like cc railgun days probably not gonna have a hearing safe one

2019-09-25 04:53:23 UTC

Suppressor technology is pretty decent now, and they’re super prolific so it’s not like no one would buy something like that if they made them, but there’s only so much that you can bend physics

2019-09-25 04:53:37 UTC

Most of it would be. Could you put chambers in the slide too, and do a delayed recoil so the slide doesn't go back immediately? when it opens the chambers would vent but it would dissipate some energy first.

2019-09-25 04:53:41 UTC

thats the trouble

2019-09-25 04:53:43 UTC

Tbh the maxim 9 doesn't look that much bigger than a 34 with a x300.

2019-09-25 04:54:08 UTC

vast majority of noise is from the muzzle @Red Korvo

2019-09-25 04:54:08 UTC

Yeah but are you CCing that?

2019-09-25 04:54:53 UTC

No, but I know some people have, so it can be done. Just uncomfortable.

2019-09-25 04:55:15 UTC

It’s not something that I would really consider an EDC piece

2019-09-25 04:55:29 UTC

Unless you’re rocking YNH levels of extra fabric

2019-09-25 04:55:31 UTC

like in descending order of loud shit its supersonic crack, gas concussion around the muzzle and everything else is a distant third

2019-09-25 04:55:43 UTC

I don't understand what you mean @franknotcreep. Are you saying the ports into the chambers have to be close to the end of the barrel, and porting it all the way back to the slide would be too far?

2019-09-25 04:55:50 UTC

Ccw a B&T VP9.

2019-09-25 04:56:04 UTC

porting all the way back would kill all your velocity

2019-09-25 04:56:10 UTC

The ports would all still be in the barrel.

2019-09-25 04:56:12 UTC

oh.

2019-09-25 04:56:12 UTC

and youd have a garbage cc gun

2019-09-25 04:56:27 UTC

because you bled all the energy out of it before the bullet leaves the muzzle

2019-09-25 04:56:53 UTC

And you could use high temp plastic baffels at the back where the heat is lower to cut weight. you wouldn't want to mag dump with that of course.

2019-09-25 04:57:02 UTC

hmmmmm

2019-09-25 04:57:24 UTC

yeah the real trouble is sure you could get it super fucking quiet porting it all the way back

2019-09-25 04:57:49 UTC

but if you do your fouling goes way up, and your bullet is gonna be weak as shit, and your gun wont cycle

2019-09-25 04:58:11 UTC

🤔 is red korvo ESL?

2019-09-25 04:58:17 UTC

esl?
