Most of it would be. Could you put chambers in the slide too, and do a delayed recoil so the slide doesn't go back immediately? when it opens the chambers would vent but it would dissipate some energy first.
thats the trouble
Tbh the maxim 9 doesn't look that much bigger than a 34 with a x300.
vast majority of noise is from the muzzle @Red Korvo
Yeah but are you CCing that?
No, but I know some people have, so it can be done. Just uncomfortable.
It’s not something that I would really consider an EDC piece
Unless you’re rocking YNH levels of extra fabric
like in descending order of loud shit its supersonic crack, gas concussion around the muzzle and everything else is a distant third
I don't understand what you mean @franknotcreep. Are you saying the ports into the chambers have to be close to the end of the barrel, and porting it all the way back to the slide would be too far?
Ccw a B&T VP9.
porting all the way back would kill all your velocity
The ports would all still be in the barrel.
oh.
and youd have a garbage cc gun
because you bled all the energy out of it before the bullet leaves the muzzle
And you could use high temp plastic baffels at the back where the heat is lower to cut weight. you wouldn't want to mag dump with that of course.
hmmmmm
yeah the real trouble is sure you could get it super fucking quiet porting it all the way back
but if you do your fouling goes way up, and your bullet is gonna be weak as shit, and your gun wont cycle
esl?
European Sign Language
because if you have porting like 1cm after the camber you are gonna get unburned powder spraying into your suppressor
thanks for the clarification.
english second language @Red Korvo
lol
ohhhhh I didn't think about that.
like you probably need a minimum of like inch and a half to two inches of unported barrel to get anything near acceptable velocities
like esp in this year of our lord 2019 with hollowpoints and hollopoint variants being the bigbrain carry ammo
hollowpoints are super fucking velocity dependent
I mean shit the Maxim 9 isnt that big
I only carry RIP™ ammo.
Ok, full retard idea. expose the barrel. put a can around the barrel. when you pull it out, a catch on your holster snags the back of the can so you're basically pulling the barrel out of the can. It catches at the end of the barrel and locks into place and the holster catch is spring loaded so it gets forced back when the can locks.
I unironically CC'd a Glock 20 for a bit
Can make a shitty drawing to explain.
not sure i get the idea korvo
I do, it's a bad idea
thanks
