My building made horse carriages before 1900, Sherman tanks during the war, and was a cold hammer forge until the 80s

2019-09-25 20:34:22 UTC

On occasion I use machines that have a commission from the war dept.

Original timber support beams

I make $80k/yr and have no debt. Im told this is very good. Alas, I still feel like a poorfag.

Poorfag is a state of mind

2019-09-25 20:42:19 UTC

Stop being a poorfag

2019-09-25 20:43:13 UTC

buy nicer things or productive investments

2019-09-25 20:45:22 UTC

@Runt nice mine was part of hoovers plan to fix the great depression

2019-09-25 20:45:53 UTC

It was a 3 story textile mill n most of the beams and flooring are original

2019-09-25 20:46:03 UTC

Also the exterior since its brick

I am embellishing a bit but it definitely works up some anxiety

2019-09-25 20:46:48 UTC

🤔

2019-09-25 20:47:08 UTC

Cheap shit is never worth it if its anything important

2019-09-25 20:47:08 UTC

you can get comtacs for $200

2019-09-25 20:47:34 UTC

regularly $300

2019-09-25 20:48:04 UTC

Buying something new when there's an established "used/surplus" market is kinda dumb

2019-09-25 20:48:58 UTC

also comtacs don't cancel noise

2019-09-25 20:49:40 UTC

Didnt we all discuss comtacs yesterday

2019-09-25 20:49:43 UTC

yes 😔

2019-09-25 20:49:50 UTC

@Festive oh for sure
@CTL fair but its still a bit of sticker shock at first

2019-09-25 20:50:07 UTC

Where do you like to look? When you say used/surplus are you talking like arfcom EE, eBay, and gunbroker?

Or is there a good website to get surp comtacs thru?

2019-09-25 20:50:39 UTC

it kinda is when you're used to $25 leights but as with all things, as things get more expensive you get less value but they're still nicer

2019-09-25 20:50:51 UTC

@SomeWarrior Ebay, Tacswap, facebook/insta, here even

2019-09-25 20:50:52 UTC

@cuntface smoke weed with obama?

2019-09-25 20:51:29 UTC

If you want to be cheap go buy $150 sordins with LEMOs

2019-09-25 20:51:32 UTC

I was likely not part of yesterdays convo.
From what I was seeing there was active noise reduction/filtering so you could hear conversations during gun fire, is that incorrect?

2019-09-25 20:51:32 UTC

2019-09-25 20:52:21 UTC

Gunfire hella clips the mic on comtacs

I mean you can kinda talk but if there's active constant gunfire, no

2019-09-25 20:53:06 UTC

@ottovfrankfurt So the primary purpose of comtacs isn't ear pro, it's situational awareness and communications.
They compress loud noises but if there is constant gunfire or droning, it'll cut out incoming voice

2019-09-25 20:53:19 UTC

They also amplify quiet sounds

2019-09-25 20:53:46 UTC

thats what i had always thought given my experience with other powered ear pro but I have never used comtacs

2019-09-25 20:53:52 UTC

@Chase lel is that misurp?

2019-09-25 20:53:57 UTC

the ear pro part is just barely enough so you're not going deaf from MG fire or shooting in a hallway

2019-09-25 20:54:08 UTC

That's why radio/comms are useful.

2019-09-25 20:54:22 UTC

@Lapland oxcides airsoft place

2019-09-25 20:54:27 UTC

And yep, that's why I want the ops core AMP so I can double up my electronic earpro

2019-09-25 20:54:41 UTC

Bc earmuffs are not enough

2019-09-25 20:54:41 UTC
