So i was just in a shitty reserve unit but they issued us hydration bladders and 2x canteens specifically because they said the bladders tend to burst. Maybe the canteen idea is dumb, ill own that - i wouldnt have asked if I wasnt second guessing it myself.

it's not dumb to own a canteen it's dumb to not use a bladder just because you're worried about the small chance of it breaking

hydration packs also aren't great camp water sources

just have both if you plan to be out for a long time IMO

Its not like I dont also have a camel bak. I have a hanging filter that I use to refill my water source.

Ive always liked canteens if they fit your set up

Camelbaks too, cant say Ive used one while larping though
